Question about Honeywell Electronic Programmable Heat/Cool Thermostat - CT3300A100 Heater

1 Answer

How do I calibrate the temperature for the RTH7500D thermostat? It is 2 degress warmer than the thermostat reflects. Does this thermostat operate on the battery power alone? There are only two wires going to the thermostat. One is the red hot and the other is the return leg that activates the relay that transfers power to the hot water pump that circulates water to the registers. .Since there is no common wire going to the thermostat and the thermostat will not operate without the batteries, I am assuming the battery is the only source of power that operates the thermostat.

The second part of my question was not answered. Does the 2 AA batteries provide power for the RTH7500 thermostat since there is no neutral wire(X terminal) going to the stat. There is only the hot (R terminal)and return wire(W terminal) to activate the heat.. I am guessing that the hot wire and the wire to the W terminal provides 24v power to the thermostat but if that is the case, why does the stat show no display when no battery power is present?

Calibrating Honeywell CT3600

In the thermostats setup there can be a calibration mode however this is a chasing the gragon type of endeavour that rarely ever culminates in thermostats jiving with another, they typically are off plus or minus 3-4 degrees anyways as they are not designed to maintain too narrow of a temperature differential or the furnace will short cycle or run too often & stop in short order.

Our coleman fireplace insert starts to warm and then shorts out

Not sure if you have an electric fireplace or a gas fireplace. But, from the way you worded the description of your problem, I'm going to assume that it's electric. I'm also assuming that all the other features of the fireplace work, but the heater doesn' t. If that is the case, below is what the Owners Manual recommends doing.

5. Flame effect operates, but heater does not blow warm air

The TEMPERATURE button is a thermostat control for the heater. Each preset temperature setting has a different thermostat setting as shown to the right:

The heater will NOT activate if the room temperature is above the thermostat setting. If the ambient room temperature is 78° F the user will need to select Setting 3 in order for the heater to be activated. It is normal in warmer climates and in rooms with higher ambient temperatures for the heater to not activate on the lower settings due to the thermostat control. 5a. Try increasing the temperature setting. See drawing:

temp-control-fig.jpg 6. If unit heater does not function, but Power and Heater switches are in the "ON" position and thermostat is set on "HI" 6a. Turn all switches to the "OFF" position and unplug the unit from the wall outlet for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes plug the unit back into the wall outlet, and operate as normal.

Honeywell Chronotherm III Lowest temperature setting is 45F Any way of getting it lower thanks

If you are successful in setting it lower , you will end up with frozen pipes and large plumbing bills. Since the internal walls of a building can be as much as 20 degrees lower, that the room.
And the location of the thermostat, may be even warmer, that that of the areas where the plumbing is.
Now what is your reason for wanting the thermostat operate at a lower temperature?

Set the System switch to either Heat or Cool. Press the Hold Temp button. Use the Warmer/Cooler buttons to set temperature. Temps will stay until you either turn off the system switch or press Run Program.  Good luck.

Can't change temp setting. no response from soft touch buttons for warmer/cooler temp. changed batteries but no difference.

if the stat is in auto changeover from heat to cool you might need to lower the heat temperature setting before you can lower the cooling setting, these need to be 2 to 3 degrees apart and the stat will not let you over lap them.

Honeywell Thermostat RTH7400D

The thermostat will not cut off the A/C until the thermometer reading gets to 76.

If there is not a heat source near/behind the thermostat which is causing the thermometer to read higher than actual room temperature, it sounds like the thermostat thermometer is out of calibration.

There are ways to calibrate it, but much to involved to go into here.

One solution is to just set the thermostat at 80, knowing that it's really set on 76.

Another solution is to replace the thermostat.
