Question about Saeco Odea Go

Open Question

What should Odea Go coffee dregs look like?

Our new machine leaves soupy dregs, but a reconditioned machine we previously had left a rather dry "hockey puck" of used coffee in the dregs drawer. What is it supposed to leave?

SOURCE: I have a Saeco Odea

I recently had this problem. I throughly cleaned and lubricated the brew group as directed by the manual. Apparently if the brew group doesn't move smoothly enough it won't grind the correct amount of beans. Try lubricating and then brewing 2-3 cups to have the machine recalibrate the grind amount.

The dregs drawer is not full of pucks, only liquid

Oh my gawd, I have no idea what you are talking about.
Dregs: Beer making?
Pucks and strong shots: Hockey?
Not as good as before: Well, we're all getting a bit older...

Saeco Odea: The brew group is jammed possibly due to incorrect insertion? Cannot insert dregs draw and cannot remove the brew group.

I had the same problem. I got around it by inserting just the grounds container (which sits inside the dregs drawer) and powering the machine on. Then the machine reset itself to the home position. It wouldn't do this with the dregs drawer removed, but putting in just the grounds container fooled it into thinking the dregs drawer was inserted. Hope this helps. JRP

Hi, I have a saeco odea giro plus that has just started to leak nearly all of the brewed coffee into the dreg drawer! Any ideas? thanks in advance...

I had a crack in the tube that connected to the brew group that resulted in a similar dumping of coffee in the dregs (and below the dreg drawer and onto the counter) in my Saeco Odea Giro. Replacing the "Saeco Odea Giro Coffee Dispensing Tube, part number 11003468, fixed my problem. You can replace this yourself if you are very handy. These photos are very helpful (The Go seems pretty similar to the Giro.) http://odeago.zxq.net/Odea_Go_Repair/Welcome.html

Red ! light comes on and will not work

If it is a steady light water tank is not properly in OR dregs counting and drip tray is full. Pull out the drip tray and wait for the red light changes in to flashing, then put back the drip tray.

How can i reset de saeco odea giro plus ? I can not place the central unit because the axes or spindle is not in the right position.

Turn off the machine. Open the side panel, remove the dreg tray, remove the dreg box and remove the brew group. reinsert the dreg box without the tray. Using a flat head screw driver insert lightly into the slot where the brew group sensor is until you hear a click. Hold the screw driver in place while closing the side door and turning it on. The head will re-align. Now open the side panel, remove the box and reassemble. Leave the machine off for an hour and turn back on. That should reset it.

Saeco odea go. the brew group is stuck, i cant get it out

Turn off the machine - open the service door and see if u can tilt out the tall dregs container and remove it and the drawer. You need to get it past the coffee par rejector flap on the left of the brew group. It sticks out half way into the left hand side space.
Close the door and put in only the tall dregs container. It has a metal bit on the back the releases a magnetic reed switch inside the machine.
Turn the machine on and you should hear the drive rotor moving. As you move the dregs container back and forth, the drive motor should turn. The idea to is fool the machine into getting the water inlet point in the back of the brew group to clear the boiler pin in the back of the machine so the brew group can be removed.

Dregdrawer full message will not go away

Have you tried removing the drawer with the machine on, leave it out for say 2 minutes and then replacing the dreg drawer again?

There is no dreg sensor. Dreg drawer full works off a counter - depending on when the counter was last reset your drawer may be full but it may be empty.

Simply removing the dreg drawer and replacing it quickly will not reset it. The machine has to think that you have actually taken the time to empty it - a couple of minutes should cover this.

If this does not resolve the issue, you need to get a Technician to take a look.

I hope this helps

Not working. Power on but shows a red flashing exclamation. Doesn't start making coffee. Hi! I'd like to ask for help with my Saeco Odea Go V2 that suddenly has stopped working and shows a flashing red exclamation. Looking for some info in the internet I found some disassembly diagrams and some how-to videos. I've realized that the problem is in the coffee brewing unit and have disassembled it following the diagrams to see how it actually operates. I've also activated the Test Mode and operated the brew unit so I noticed that I can put the brew unit all way up. The upper light flashes when it reaches the top but the problem is that a second after it starts its movement from the lower point the exclamation light also flashes and keeps flashing until I put the brew unit back down. It stops flashing a second before it reaches the bottom point and the lower light flashes once. So I've noticed that the trouble is on the lower switch of the two ones that interact with the big gear that moves the brew unit, but I've checked it with a electronic tester and it seems to be working properly, opens and closes the electric circuit when I manually operate it. The upper switch seems to be a limit switch one that stops the brew unit movement in both directions, lifting and lowering. But I don't know exactly what the lower switch is for. I think it could be pre-end switch to change the speed of the movement or so... The fact is that if it is NOT OPERATED (moving or upper point) the exclamation flashes showing the error and the coffee machine doesn't work at all. If it is OPERATED INDEED (only near or lower point) the exclamation stops flashing. May it be causing problems because of a software malfunction or any other matter? I've managed to repair the coffee machine by putting an adhesive tape that blocks the switch as always operated cancelling its function. Not a very stylish solution thought ;- but at least it works!!! Can anyone please give me any clue about the real function of this switch or a way to repair this coffee machine? Thanks everyone for reading and for your help!!!
