Which Operating System?

Windows xp does have a 64 bit os. The issue is that windows xp is no longer supported by microsoft. I would suggest windows 7. If the ram is 2gb and under it will need a 32 bit os if its 4 gb and up can use 64 bit.

Can you run office 32 bit on a windows 64 bit operating system?

You have 32-bit Office installation package (CD/DVD/file) and 64-bit Windows operating system. Is it correct?

General answer is YES, I can install a 32-bit application on 64-bit OS. I have exactly same situation in my laptop. Both 32-bit LibreOffice and 32-bit MS Office are installed on W7 & W8 laptops and work well.
But NO vice versa. The 32-bit system does not allow to install 64-bit application. The 32b system does not support 64b instruction set required for 64b applications.

My experience is confirmed by many other users:

Can't detect XP discs in win 64 bit

Hello Joe, 64-bit processing is faster than 32-bit processing because the CPU is handling more bits at once, However, a 64-bit OS requires more resource than a 32-bit OS, A 64-bit OS requires that device drivers operating in kernel mode be a 64-bit drivers, These drivers must be available from the device manufacturer. An application is compiled to process 64-bit or 32-bits. A 64-bit OS can run either 64-bit applications or 32-bit applications, but 64-bit applications are faster also 64-bit applications cannot run on a 32-bit OS.
A 32-bit OS can only address up to 4 GB of memory, More than that might be on the motherboard, but the OS cannot use it, because it does not have enough memory addresses to assign to the physical memory. A 64-bit OS theoretically can address up to 1 terabyte of memory although in practice, most motherboards can only hold from 12 to 16 GB of memory.( A terabyte is roughly 1000 GB or 1 trillion bytes). If you open many applications at the same time and have high computing needs and enough hard drive space and memory, you can benefit from 64-bit computing. To get most out of it, the processor, motherboard, operating system, drivers and applications must all be 64-bit, and you should have installed the maximum amount of memory the motherboard supports.

My laptops cant open when you turn it on, but if you put in a cold place it will open when you push the on/off button

Usually the problem is with the video card. You might need to have it serviced/replaced. Try booting in Enable Basic video driver:
1. Turn the computer on 2. Tap on F8 as the computer boots up 3. you will get the advanced boot option 4. Choose enable basic video driver
Once you have booted the computer, you will notice all the icons will be larger. Go to support.dell.com and try to look for the driver list for the model type of computer that you have. Download the latest chipset and the latest video card driver.
Things to take a note of:
1. Check the driver that is compatible with your operating system 2. Make sure you know if your OS is 32 bit or 64 bit. Download the appropriate driver.
To check on the type of operating system
1. press on the windows button + R 2. type msinfo32
check on the Operating system
if it says x86, it means that it is a 32 bit OS if it says 64 then it is 64 bits

I cannot setup it because when i do it says os is not supported my lap top is windows 7 x64 please help

If I had to guess here, I'd say your laptop doesn't have a 64 bit processor. You'll need to get the 32 bit version of windows or possibly your hard disk/ram/processor do not meet the windows 7 minimum operating system requirements.
I'd need to know what laptop you have, but the issue is likely the laptop itself, not the operating system.

How do I change my laptop from 32-bit to 64-bit?

You have to check whether your CPU (Processor) support 64 bit before you can install any windows 64bit OS(Operating Systyem).

Check with the manufacturer Site first, ie if you Laptop support the 64 bit OS. Then download the any 64 bit drivers needed for the devices for your laptop before you begin your 64 bit OS installation.

If your laptop do support the 64 bit OS, best is to do a fresh installation.

Hope it helps.

Need help before buying laptop with 64-bit OS

Your router doesn't care about your OS, all it's dealing with is networking packets and protocols ant for that Vista 64bit is acting like anything else, there's no such thing on the brand new laptop market what won't work with a router via cable or wireless.
Long story short I can tell you that it will work and if there'll be a problem it wont'be 64-bit vista itself more likely the wireless password if you don't know it. Buy that laptop if you like how it looks like and what it can do for you.

The router protocols (on air and ethernet connection) are independant of the operating system. Vista 64 bit will work with the router.
