I have a toshiba DVD player that gives a very good picture but no sound

You don't mention the TV model (requested). Can you skip the SCART and go with Component Video and RCA Audio direct to the TV? That would eliminate possible SCART problems.

It would also be helpful (listen up everybody) if you mentioned if the problem appeared suddenly or if it has never worked right in the first place.

Screen Flicker - JVC Video Recorder

Has the DVD disc got Macrovision (marked sometimes as CP) on it. If it has you will never solve it, as the signal is flickering due to the Macrovision. Which is a copy protection system designed to stop people making copies of films etc.

What year is the recordergram rf4

1965...I worked at the Hendon SA factory at this time actually on this model. BTW you'll find a date code on components such as IF transformers. For example, 12x5 indicates twelfth week of 1965, the time the component was produced, usually approx. 5-6 weeks before the radio itself. Hope this helps..

I have a portable dvd player ( model pvs 3377). Worked fine until last night when i tried to play a dvd. When I inserted the disc it said LOADING and after a few seconds stopped and said NO DISC. Can't...

My first solution would be to clean the glass laser eye with cotton swab and rubbing alcohol. If the player is self-fixable, that always works. If the cleaning does not work, than that means the eye motor or timing is off. If it is off, than it is due to a burnt out capacitor on the system board. THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM IN ALL PLAYERS. They will all eventually do this sometime in it's lifetime. If the cleaning does not work, than it is time to replace it or have it repaired by a qualified electronics repair technician. They will have to test the motor and all capacitor and components to determine the cause of the error

Hook up of new dvd player to comcast cable box

I ran into the same problem, Radio Shack has a device called a RF Modulator. The model # is Model: 15-2526 | Catalog #: 15-2526, the price is $27.49. On the back there is a place for cable in and cable out to tv. There are the 3 rca jacks on the back also, 1 video (yellow) and 2 audio (red/white) That simple. Set the tv to channel 3, turn on the dvd player and it automaticlly puts the dvd on the screen. Turn it off and back to normal cable. Works great, I use one myself. hope this helps. Steve

Unlocking go video double vcr

Hi I had the same problem. Someone gave me this vcr because they said it didn't work w/o the remote and then the remote stopped working when I got it. I got an old universal remote I had and looked up the code for the Go Video online (you can usually just type in the brand of your remote and they usually have a pdf you can open). Then when I entered the code I was able to go and unlock it. Hope this works!!!

Need to clean and resoldering works.Cold solder issues - each component is soldered into small holes on the printed circuit board which in turn connects said component to the other components. Due to time, heat, use, some solder joints would be cracked or loose. It is possible that the cold solder is still minimally connected (hanging by a thread). When the receiver turns on heat would be generated which would be sufficient to further loosen up the solder joint to the point it no longer provides electrical contact. Jarring the unit creates movement inside enough to re establish the contact, sometime good enough sometimes not enough.

Again, since the unit still operates (sometimes) then it is highly probable that there are no defective components. As you have surmised, it is possibly a loose connection, solder joints are "connections" except that molten soldering lead is used to attach/connect the component to the board, "loose connection" in this sense is equal to "cold solder".

Again on the assumption of no defective parts, then seeking a more experienced buddy for the soldering might be to your advantage. This is of course in addition to the possible electrical hazards when repairing....If i have helped, please click to rate.It is the only way i get paid for my work...

Good luck:
