a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

your ipod will not function properly with windows media player. it may play the music but it won;t get functionality from the ipod.
You have to use iTunes to get your ipod straightened out. Once you mount it on iTunes you will see the music and be able to add music and delete music.

I don't know if you've already done this, but this sounds to me like a software issue on the IPOD. I also have one of these, and have had to do the following at least once due to lock up problems. Connect the IPOD to your computer, make SURE all the music you have on the IPOD is on your computer (because your IPOD is about to be wiped clean). Then, in ITUNES under your IPOD (whatever you named it) on the main screen should be a RESTORE function. Click on that, and follow the directions - this will wipe your IPOD clean, and restore all factory software and settings. Reload your music, and try it then - this usually works for me! :)
Good luck wit the IPOD! :)

It sounds as if the ipod you are connecting is not registered to the computer and itunes you are using. If this is not the case then you want to look at your device that shows up on the left hand side of itunes. Click on it. There you can see if you device is registered to your computer. If it is, you will also be able to see how you are syncing the device. If your ipod does have the exact amount of songs as your itunes, you can re register your ipod to the computer. WARNING this will wipe all of the songs off of your ipod! It will then copy your library back to your ipod.
