help!!!!! turkey ready and no ignition!

  • Anonymous Dec 27, 2008

My fryers heated up to about 250 and would shut off by itself. It would not stay on by itself after attempting to relight.

Same problem... the red button allows the gas to flow... instructions say to hold it down for 30 seconds, but that doesn't prevent the flame from going out when the button is let go.

I have one also not aware of any red button just turn the valve on

If that is what the directions say to do,hold for 30 seconds and it will stay lit and it doesn't,I would say maybe the gas valve is not open enough, since there is fire that's probably not likely because even if there was a little,it should stay lit.Is there enough air ventilation around it?I am pretty sure you do so I would say take it back and exchange it.Fire 101=air,combustible material, ignition. If you have done everything by the book more than 1 time and have nothing still,it is faulty. After 30 seconds, that is plenty of time for the gas to reach where it needs to,that is why they say 30 seconds.
Good luck! Greg

Turkey fryer won't start

Yo! the Dang pan has to be filled and on the burner which makes contact with the auto shut off sensor that is measuring the temp of the pan. The weight of the filled pan holds that Lil temp sensor down and allows the gas to continuously flow as if you were holding that Lil red button. So after hours of trying to light it without the pan you should find that it does work with the filled pan on the burner holding the red button, stick a match in the hole and let the button go and watch the blue flames flow. My gripe now is that it shuts off after the oil temp reaches 250 to 260 degrees then you have to reignite. Oh yeah my 10lb Turkey was crazy tasty.

Hi i have a new imperial fryer and im tring to light it and cant seem to get it to work. any idea on how to get it working?

Have a lighter handy (I use one of the elongated ones for caravaners)
in-between the burners is a pilot light (top right) keep the lighter flame where the gas comes out.
On the right hand side of the fryer at the bottom is a gas valve with a little black knob.
Press and hold the black knob in and gas will come out of the pilot light and ignite by the lighter flame. You need to hold the button in for quite a while. (until it stays lit)
When it stays lit depress the little black knob and turn it anti clockwise. Gas comes out of the burners and ignites from the pilot light. When it reaches temp. it will cut out.
To turn it off turn the little black knob clockwise. To turn the pilot light off, push and turn clockwise.

Cannot get burner to stay lit-gas going thru it but when red button released it goes out

I bought my fryer in November 2010 worked good for that Thanksgiving. Went to use it this year and thermocuople kept shutting off I used a brick to kep red button pressed in.

After turkey day I removed my thermocouple and installed a direct conection. I used a McMaster-Carr p/n 93590A220; Metric 18-8 Stainless Steel Coupling Nut M8 Screw Sz, 1.25mm Pitch, 38mm Length, 16mm Width, $7.95. I'm not sure about the exact thread size the Brinkman hose end and brass fitting on burner uses. However, I found 8mm threads to be the closet. Use thread sealant and it works great!

I tried 1/16" pipe fitting bit it is not correct.12_5_2011_6_08_54_pm.jpg

I have a Pitco 35cs that I obtained from a place that was closing. I have hooked it up to my BBQ gas stack and I have no knowlege of how to make it work. I have left it hooked up but won't try to start...

first make sure you have a 1/2 psi regulator. If you do, turn the main gas valve to "pilot" and hold it in. The pilot area is behind the burners if you're kneeling in front of it (has kind of a Y shape). while continuing to hold the knob in try to light it every few seconds until it stays burning. keep holding the knob for about 30 seconds and slowly release it. the pilot should stay lit. turn the knob to "on" and set you're desired temp from the TSTAT.

We r trying to start our fryers.. we were given them and to assistance to start them.. These are gas and we don't have the model number

On the gas valve there is a knob that has 3 positions...ON/OFF/PILOT. Put the knob in the pilot position and push the knob in and light the pilot while keeping the knob pushed in. After about 30 seconds let go and the pilot should stay on. Then turn the knob to the ON position and set the thermostat.

How do you re-light pilot light

Turn the knob on the gas valve to the pilot position. Sometimes you have to slightly depress the knob to turn it..don't use a pair of pliers. In the pilot position.. push the knob in and light the pilot..keeping the knob pushed in for 30 seconds. Let go and the pilot should stay on. Turn the knob to the on position and set the thermostat.

Cant get the flame to stay lit after holding the red button

THIS IS FROM BRIKMANN WEBSITE SUPPORTMake sure the tip of the thermocouple is located over the edge of the burner so that it gets hot when the burner is in operation. Also, check all the wiring connections to make sure nothing has come loose. It is also important to use the turkey fryer with the pot that comes with the unit. The pot must sit on the spring loaded temperature switch in order to determine the temperature of the liquid in the pot.

Pilot is off.

Most fryers have pilot lighting instructions on the inside of the door. If yours doesn't then find the gas valve, turn the knob to the pilot position, push in on the knob and light the pilot. Keep the knob pushed in after you lite the pilot for at least another 30 seconds. The pilot should stay lit.

I cant find the way on how to light uo the friar.

If you have a pitco 35 fryer, all you need to do is have gas connected and turned on, rotate the know on the gas valve to the pilot position, depress the knob, while holding the knob down light the pilot, normally located in between the burner tubes in the middle of the front of the fryer, hold the knob for 60 seconds, when you release the pilot should remain on. If it does rotate the pilot know to the "on" position, from this point the thermostat should control the fryer. If your pilot does not stat lit, press the red button on the hi-limit to reset it, it could be tripped and this would cause the pilot to not hold. Hope this is helpful.
