HP 2840 printing two thin black lines from top to the bottom of the center of the page is that a fuser kit problem?

It could be a fuser problem.
Put paper in the manual feed tray. Print a few pages. As the paper gets
1/2 way into the printer, open the cover. Look down at the paper in the printer.
If it has 2 thin black lines, the toner cartridge needs to be replaced. If there are no lines the fuser is probably bad.

When you print each page has a gray/black line running down the page from top to bottom about 2.5 inches from the edge of the paper. Sometimes it is darker and other times it is lighter. We have tried...

While the line is showing up on the output pages.
Stop printing and put paper in the manual feed tray (tray 1).
Start printing again. As a page gets pulled into the printer about 1/2 way open the top cover.
Pull out the toner and look at the page inside the printer. If it doesn't have the grey/black line, get the fuser replaced. It is defective.

There is a black line down the left side of all copies only when original is fed through the top feeder. HP 3055. How do we get rid of it?

You have to take it apart and clean it. If it is under warranty I would have them replace it as they can be pesky to disassemble.

HP 3055 All In One laserjet prints all black pages

Odds are that you have a bad toner cartridge; especially common when using remanufactured cartridges. (Staples, Corporate Express, etc.) Replace your cartridge with an OEM HP cartridge and you should be OK.

Documnet feeder jam

Check input paper feeder at top too - easy to miss. Top flips open with a firm (but not excessive) pull, so you can look there.

If you are sure you've opened and looked under every available panel on the printer (there are many!), turn it off and unplug for half a minute. Make sure all panels are back properly in place, but leave out the paper tray (and no paper either in the rear input paper feeder).

Plug in and turn on. Wait for it to finish its start-up sequence - it should complain about no paper.

Check the paper is flat and straight in the paper tray, and no excess room between paper and guides, and put it in again.

Print test page.

How is it now?

Printing black line down middle of page when coping

The fuser is located in the back of the printer. I think it's held in by to screws. It's about hte same size as the toner cartridge. Please visit these websites.

This is the fuser kit.

black smear down page (either left or right) is caused by fuser. To check simply remove the toner cartridge, remove the 2 screws holding the fuser caution plate, gently pry the right side and look at fuser film for dammage. DO NOT FORCE the cover off the unit as it will break and then you'll need a fuser assy.
