    Wow, that guy was useless.

My black ink registered as "empty" when the last page printed beautifully! That's no how printers work....

I've refilled the cartridge, uninstalled and upgraded the drivers and software, and turned everything off and then on again.

    Nothing worked.

Lexmark is just a b*tch about people refilling their cartridges. Don't buy from them.

Now, There's an lx_Cats folder that holds a mini-registry of all your print cartridges that you've used according to some hacking/modding folks.

I deleted it after uninstalling. Still, got the same error message upon reinstall.

This is some seriously f*cked up spyware.

Original Printer manufacturers do not recommend refilling in cartridges.
Different inks used in different cartridges differ in density, color, acidity etc. Usually refilling ink is made as universal ink. i.e. They produce the ink for 'any printer'.
The differences in the original and refiling inks might lead to the printer not recognizing the ink level.
Either buy a new cartridge or just ignore the messages.

Empty ink

Hi,

According to your problem it seems your cartridge has been damaged or choked so change your cartridge. Because some times when we use refilled cartridge, Ink goes dry and printer's sensor can not sense the ink.

Ashly

Can one reset the Lexmark P6250 printer refilled cartridge?

No, you can usually tell your printer to "ignore ink levels" when it gives the ink low warning on your computer screen. As long as they print just keep printing until they run out.

Printer does not recognize carts

I have refilled my cartridges many, many times. A messy job, but well worth the savings. Never over fill, handle carefully.
The printer will give an error message, but just press cancel, do not order a new cartridge, Your refilled cartridge will work on the lexmark x5470. Good luck.

Low ink

Wow, nice "solution," Printech. That is BS. There has to be a way to trick this printer into using refilled ink. If not, why would they sell refilled ink kits for this printer? Cut the **** and give us a SOLUTION. I refuse to pay $30 for a "certified Lexmark" cartridge when I can spend $15 for a refilled one.

X5470 Lexmark printer

Lexmark and Dell use a sensor in the cartridge to sense a low ink level. Once the sensor has been activated, you cannot reset it. The printer should work fine except for the fact that you'll have to override the "low ink" message on your computer.

Manufacurers don't make money on printer hardware. All the money is made from ink replacement, so they make it as difficult as possible to use anything other than the stuff you buy from them. Some (HP) put in chips for an "expiration" of the ink/toner. Go beyond the expiration date, the thing won't work.
