Question about Sony BRAVIA KDL-46S2000 46 in. LCD HDTV
Go into your TV settings and change the Automatic Volume Control Sound Mode. It's probably at Dynamic and the TV is trying to adjust the volume. The popping sound may be caused by static electricity building up on the circuits of your TV or cable.
Does this also happen when you are watching a video/DVD?

Take off HDMI cable and replace with std cable (red blue green) for video and std cable (red and white ) for audio.
