not sure if you have solved this problem already, but the error code is related to the playstation network and not been able to connect to it for whatever reason(there could be many). I've attached a link below to try and solve the problem for you(if you already have not done so. Thanks.
ps3 error 80028e02 can be caused by different source of networkblockages. If you happened to be in a filtered network, that's your most probable reason why your ps3 is unable to connect online. For example, if you're in a school campus, there's a high chance that the IT network administrator has placed some restrictions to prevent hackers and other malicious online activities. You can refer to the campus IT department to find out if you need to access their local page for some clearance in order for your ps3 to connect online.
If you have your own internet connection, the next probable cause is a router. Placing restrictions on some IP address or net services may have accidentally include your ps3 in it. You can change some settings within the router to grant your ps3 full access online, while at the same time maintaining other restrictions that are already in place.
Another possible remedy is have your pc internet connection shared, and use your ps3 to use that shared connection to go online. These solutions are sure fire methods of keeping ps3 80028e02 away from your console.
Goto the command prompt bar in the start menu type ' cmd ' then click o.k . A black dos screen will appear type in ' ipconfig/all ' and it will the the two servers you need under dns servers but if your doing a wired connection to your ps3 then you need to manually configure your dns on the custom method of setting up your internet connection on your ps3 as if this is auto config that will give you a dns error. Hope that helps ,I can go into more detail and guide you through it if need to .
Are you connecting wirelessly or with a cord? if wireless, you need to make sure that you are selecting the same security setting as the connection that you pick in 'network settings'. If the option is 'none', then you need not worry about a password. however if it has a password, then you need to make sure that you type that password in (case sensitive). I had the same problem and this worked for me. hope this helps...please rate if it does....thanks. also, you shouldn't have to do anything with your laptop at all. try to use a direct line from your modem if you are using an ethernet cord.
gucciskills, this is a common problem if you have other people using your home internet connection at the same time. I have that problem every now and then even with no one on the home PC. It just means you are losing your connection. Try and reconfigure your router setting and see if that helps.
dns error, try entering the following in your ps3. Settings - Network Settings - internet connection settings - custom - wired or wireless depending on your internet - manual settings - IP address manual - enter your ip address and your router address and change your dns primary 188.8.131.52 and secondry 184.108.40.206 this will enable you to go online as for the error code 80710092 i have no idea, im experiancing the same problem. its so frustrating. as soon as i find the answer i will let you know.
First you need to find a Windows wired or wireless device already connected to the network in order to find out the required settings
Windows XP 1. Click start --> (sometimes settings) --> Control Panel --> Network Connections 2. Double click on the active connection which will say connected underneath 3. Click Support 4. Click Details 5. Now the IP Address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway, Primary DNS and Alternate DNS which are displayed should be noted.
Windows Vista 1. Click Start --> Control Panel --> Network and Sharing Center 2. Click on "View Status" to the right of your connection 4. Click Details 5. Now the IP Address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway, Primary DNS and Alternate DNS which are displayed should be noted.
Set these values under "manual settings" in the PS3 but add 1 to the last number for the IP Address as this has to be unique on your network
