PC Monitor goes black

Hey folks, I just recently replaced my bad CPU with a new one that is slightly better. I upgraded from an IntelP4 3.0Ghz to an IntelP4 3.60Ghz. The Rig worked okay for several days but then the Monitor went black. The keyboard still has lights but the digital mouse does not. I power down the PC manually by the front button and then clicik the button again to turn it on. Sometimes it works fine and comes on for about 30 minutes to an hour depending on what I am doing before the screen goes black again. The PC is still running though. There are also times where I'll click the button to turn it on again and the rig turns on but the Happy beep does not sound out and nothing sems to happen. My ATI video card is 11 months old, I have one stick of ram which is 3 years old and 1 stick which is about a year old. The mother board is 3 years old. I have an external HD connected to the USB ports which also stays on.
It almost seems like the video card or Processor stops sending a signal. Any suggestions? Tahnk you.

Check to see if the image is Dimmed. Chances are the power supply on the FPD is either dead or not supplying power to the back lights.

SOURCE: MAG Innovision LT1919WDb flat screen goes black

I had the same problem. I contact the manufactuer and they refused to fix it. They said it would cost an additional $100 to have it fixed. I have not even had it a year. I thought products sold in America were suppose to last longer than a year? What has happened to companies standing behind there products. Beware of this monitor!!! DO NOT BUY IT!!! LT1919WDB

My monitor s19a100n displays slowly when the command is already givento to Pc. What might be the solution for this problem?

That your PC is busy, the display has an offset of somewhere aroung 5 ms for your display. You won't even see more than just a slight blur even in quick movements. Anything above that orgiginates in the computer.

You might have set a bigger resolution for a new monitor, thus increasing the workload for your graphics adapter.

Example:
For a 1024 x 768 resolution, the PC must compute 786,432 pixels. Your display (1366 x 768 pixels) has about 30% more pixels to compute. (for an HD display that number increases to two and a half times as many)

Test:
(presuming, you run windows) start the task manager (right klick the status bar, usually on the bottom of the screen), select task manager and then the tab "performance", where you can see how busy your CPU is and whatamount of ram / swap is used.

Resolution:
Reduce your resolution, get a better graphics adapter, upgrade CPU / ram, decrease background programmes.

Toshiba Satellite C655D-S5084 CPU upgrade

It is possible but usually not worth the hassle.
Changing to another CPU chip that fits your motherboard may only show a 3-10% performance change.

See videos of CPU replacement in laptops like yours:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aPdZ4PQhqyo
or
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I9a0hIPdVmc

In general, you are better off adding more RAM (memory) or replacing the hard drive with a faster SSD (Solid State Drive) to make a laptop "fly". Your laptop can hold a max of 8 GB RAM:

http://www.crucial.com/upgrade/Toshiba-memory/Satellite+C655+Series/Satellite+C655D-S5084-upgrades.html

In MOST laptops, slower 5400 RPM drives are used, and this is the main performance bottleneck. A 7200 RPM drive or (better yet) a SSD drive will help matters, as will more RAM (the most cost-effective speed increase).

LCD monitor signs "no signal" on eMachines t3418

E-machines had had a long history of bad power supplies. I've seen many of these machines go bad and when they do they take out the video chip (Nvidea) with it, usually shutting down the whole machine. I've never seen one operable. You might be able to insert a video card.

Monitor shuts off of the computer then stays on then goes off .

Does it shut off with absolutely no warning sounds whatsoever?

Do you ever hear a faint PC beeper alarm that kinda sounds like a ambulance siren (you know... kinda like a WEEEE. ORRRRR... WEEEE... ORRRR)

My main suspect at this stage is OVERTEMP (you are overheating the CPU).

Possible Causes: Recently UPGRADED components (especially VIDEO)

Build up of dust in Case and CPU heatsink and GPU heatsink or CPU fan has failed or one or some case fans have failed.

Do you know how to check your CPU temp in BIOS? If it happens again check it out.... greater than 90 degrees is usually bad.

Check all your fans are spinning, check you don't have 'caked up' dust on your heatsinks.

If you have recently upgraded a major component that is dumping heat into you case... investigate a new case fan to extract this heat (cheapest option) or you may want to pick up an aftermarket CPU heatsink and fan (Thermalright FTW!!!!!!!)

Should I get a new cpu for dell dimension 3000?

HII MARLBOROMANZ ,
YEAH THE PROCESSOR IS BIT SLOW FOR GAMES TO RUN PROPERLY.

I WOULD SUGGEST U TO BUY MOTHERBOARD THATS INTEL 965G AND CORE2DUO PROCESSOR.

U DONT NEED TO UPFRADE THE RAM AND VIDEO CARD U CAN USE THEM IN NEWLY UPGRADED MOTHERBOAD AND PROCESSOR.

I AM SURE U WILL ENJOY GAMES IF U UPGRADE ONLY OTHERBOARD AND PROCESSOR.REST ALL IS FINE.
