Question about Rival GR225
The click-in lock on the handle on my Rival GR225 Electric Griddle has broken. I have taken it apart and found that the plastic "tie bar" has threaded plastic settings that hold the screws. Those plastic stubs have cracked and broken already. I need to repalce that part and cannot find a source. Do you know where to get it?
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

SOURCE: replacement handle
The best solution is to purchase 2 replacement pot knobs from Goodmans Item # FZ-581. You get 2 knobs and S & H for $6.91. You can order online at www.goodman.net or call Goodmans toll free at 1-888-333-4660.
I had this problem and the Goodman fix is very easy and economical.

I am Jo Anne Gomez who posted original problem and thought the problem was resolved with husband putting on a knob he found at the hardware store. Just wanted to let you all know that the handle we thought would solve the problem DID NOT....after he replaced the knob and we did another roast in it the lid totally shattered after we'd cooked another roast (luckily the glass did not get into the food), however, this is just a BAD PROBLEM and these lids should ALL be recalled. I have seen, just recently, the exact same crock pot and lid being sold for much less. I think that these crock pots should not even be sold but taken off the market to prevent lawsuits or horrible problems. Just wanted to let you know our solution did not work and Rival was not helpful at all.

For what it's worth, when the handle on my mother-in-law's crockpot broke, I went to Home Depot and bought a cheap wooden drawer knob (about $1 as I recall). I put a plastic washer between the knob and the glass and another under the screw head from the bottom (to prevent cracking the lid), tightened the screw and good as new.

I looked this model up on the Rival website, and it had been recalled, so I have followed the directions to send in the plug for a new unit. According to others with similar issues, once they sent in the plug, they were sent an entire new crock pot, including the crock and lid. I am hoping that they do send me an entire new unit, however, if not, at least I will have a different model number and could order a lid for that model. I will never buy another Rival product, based on their poor customer service. Thanks for your help!!

My black handle broke off, too. I went to the hobby store and got a wood ball not too big and drilled a hole in it the same diameter as the screw that held in the original handle. Voila, I now have a wood ball knob handle on my crock pot lid. You just install it and cscrew it on just like you do a new knob on a kitchen cabinet.
