Hello Joanne,
First off, are you sure that where you plug it in has power? If so.. look around the lower portion of the vacuum cleaner body for a small red reset button,, some vacs have a circuit breaker that can be reset simply by pushing the button back in. If you don't find one, please provide information on the make and model of your vac and perhaps I can assist further. ( you may have a break in the power cord or something simple like that)..
Regards,
Rick

    Hi Again,

Ok ..so you don't see any physical damage to the cord but that doesn't mean that the wire inside it is not damaged however if I were you, I would go back to the store where you bought it and ask to speak to the service manager .. I understand that they are saying they only back it for 30 days but they should be able to provide you with contact information on who to call for service or.. if you can get loud and complain that they don't support their customers very well ( especially if you do that in front of other customers..) sometimes they would rather replace it than deal with your loud actions. At the very least, they should give you their Hoover Tech Support phone number etc,..

As far as the technical reason it stopped working, it is difficult to say without being able to physically verify continuity of the wiring etc from the plug thru the switch and to the motor. Since it is only 3 months old, the manufacturer ( Hoover in this case) should provide a way to return it or replace it for free. You have two options. Do not talk to a sales person in the store but only the manager.. That person has the ability to make an exchange whereas the sales person doesn't.. Secondly..do not leave that store until they at least provide you with tech support information... Not sure that will help you but that is what I would do... Anything you do to open it up to check wiring or components may void the warranty anyway so I would not recommend you do that atthis point.. Good Luck.. its too bad it wasn't mine because I guarantee you that if I brought it back to the store.. they would provide me with a replacement.. .. The less acceptable a response they gave me, the louder I would get.. that almost always works..

Regards... and hope it works out for you..

yes the wires are probable not properly connected to the brush bar motor dyson is not like other vacuums if you reverse the wires the motor does not turn it reverse it simply stop rewire it correctly or take it to guarantee vacuum and sewing center for better comsumption they have a lifetime warenty on them that should cover that all dyson vacuums do

Floormate stopped vacuming water

I'll answer last question first. Your floormate has a 1 year warranty. And should be taken in for repair.

Your issue of not picking up water, is related to suction and getting the dirty water to the recovery tank. check for obstruction in the nozzle, check the filter for debris clogging. If you have an issue with this dealer I would call customer support.

well the warranty will depend on the manufacture and,,,, how long you had it,,,,, also if you damanged it by sucking up something too big through the floor part of the vacum not the hose it may have damaged the motor,,,,, and voided your wattanty

That is the problem with a bagless, but if you keep the filters clean it won't be quite as dusty.

I purchased a toastess vacuum bag sealer at Canadian Tire two months ago. I only had it about a month when the sealing wire broke. I returned it to the store and they replaced. One month later the same thing happened again, but because it is more than 30 days I can not return it to the store this time. I have misplaced my bill of sales. Where do I go from here.

Hello,
I’m sorry that I cannot help you with this, this particular site is for vacuum cleaners only and you may want to check with the manufacturer of the vacuum bag sealer to try to help you on this matter, or check with Canadian Tire to see if they have a phone # to the factory or manufacturer. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.
