Question about Saeco Magic De Luxe Espresso Machine

4 Answers

My magic delux is leaking water.

It leaks and only fills half the normal amount. The water ends up under the machine (small amount) and also fills the tray.

Thanks, Johnemac

Possibly coffee grind to fine (adjust to a coarser grind) or blocked filters in central unit, try using a brewer de-tannin powder to clean. If neither of these seem to be the problem check the o ring that seals the central unit to the machine which may be leaking - if you remove the central unit you will see a cutout in the side panel of the machine inside you should see a vee shaped nozzle with an orange o-ring that may be the problem.

I had a similar problem, this is how I solved it. When you pull out the plastic unit from the side to clean it you should see a small little spout where the pressed hot espresso goes through. For me, that spout wasn't made too snug, so i wraped some white Teflon tape around it. After cleaning the unit and replace it via the side door, it now feels a bit snugger, and doesn't leak any coffee.

Hi
Sorry to say yoou have a leak in the boiler. If its the older model with the six buttons shaped like a triangle, you are going to have to replace the boiler. If its a newer model with the buttons 3 on top and 3 below, you might have a broken line going to the boiler.

If I understand well the problem is only with tanks valve which means the spring have become more soft and stays a litle open so you have water leak. It maybe because some scale or dirt keep it open some time.
In order to decide if it wise to fix it or not the answer is simple if you have a good coffee result in cup which means that the grinder grinds good, presure pump work good and boiler heat up ok then you will only need to complete descale the machine and replace only small cheap parts and you will have a very good machine again for some more years. Remember a brand new machine will do the same espresso like yours.

Water pump in Saeco Magic Deluxe

If you haven't cleaned the brew group, or decalcified the unit I would start there. This is something I do every 4 to 6 months (or anytime I notice the flow of coffee to start to slow down). This normally restores the flow to the original flow level. If you have already done these things you may want to give Saeco support a call and see what they suggest. They are extremely helpful, although very difficult to get on the phone as the phone system they use is horrible and hangs up after you hold more than a certain amount of time.

Saeco magic deluxe is leaking water

Either two faults, one is that the boiler is leaking ( fix this straight away as water can spray on main circuit board and short out ) very costly to repair if both needs replacing. Second the water runoff to the front tray is blocked with coffee grime . Instead of the water left over when the brewer dissengages running off to the front tray it overflows into the machine. Hope this helps

Saeco Vienna Deluxe leaking problem and grinder problem

I would repair it, it sounds like the grinder needs to be adjusted (burrs may be dull), and the leak on the bottom may be coming from the small drain hole on the back of the brew chamber. If you remo;ve the chamber you will see the white water valve that the chamber connect to, if you look below the white valve the small chamber in there will be filled with water, below that there is a small discharge use a stit stick or paper clip to clear hole.

Water leaking from the tank & down the outside of the Magic DeLux

I have a Saeco Magic Deluxe that does/did the same. The water tank, when filled would empty down the side of the machine and all over the counter top.

I recognized that the lid on the water tank, when pressed firmly in place, created a back-pressure because air was not able to get into it and level out the pressure. I've resolved this problem by leaving the lid slightly ajar allowing air to circulate into the water tank itself. I've also thought about drilling a tiny hole into the lid itself but have not done that yet for I don't want to comprimise the plastic.

Water leaking under the tank

If the water is coming from under the cold water tank on the back of the machine it probably the o-ring seal in the grey machine recepticle which is visable when you remove the tank for filling. This seals the tank to the machine body and over time can leak (mine has!!). You can get them from Gaggia UK in Halifax

Hi,

If it leaks under the water tank then you have to replace the gasket in the machine where the water tank inlet are.

If you have a leek inside the door, make sure the hole behind the brewing unit (in the chassis) are clean.

That you get a half cup of coffee one time and a full next time can be the electric board in the machine but can also be the flow meter.

Hope this can help you.

Water leaking into machine

This happens when the boiler develops a leak, usually due to scale buildup. Order a new boiler and o-rings and replace.

Water leaking into machine

it's possible, like mine with the same problem, that one or more of the plastic feet under the water tank has broken, then making the tank move and upsetting the valve underneath. My one always leaks clean water, never dirty and I have a broken foot.
