Twist the collar around where the blade fits in the saw. It will lock in the open position. When you insert the new blade, do so firmly until the collar releases locking the new blade in place. Give a tug at the blade to make sure it is locked in.

Need to remove and then replace blade clamp on DW305 Type 1. how do you remove the blade clamp? I see two pins

Hello Hollister, on this peticular sawzall they are using a roll pin to hold the blade holder on. If you remove the blade clamp screw, you can move the blade holder back and forth on it. You will need to get a very small punch and drive it all the way out. Look at the picture below. You will need to remove (38) and (52). It will make it much easier.

I hope this helps. If you run into trouble, I'll walk you through it, just post back.

I have a Bosch RS20 recip saw. A blade broke off in the chuck and I can't get it out. What should I do to get it out of there? Thanks for your help. Dan

Getting a broken blade our of the sawzall chuck can be difficult and require some ingenuity and patience...
Sometimes there be enough blade left so that you can grab it with a needle nose pliers... othertimes it is flush and that makes it more difficult... holding the chuck in the release position and rapping the saw against a table or with a hammer can jiggle the piece out....of course you have the chuck pointed down while you do that...
Also moving the piece around a bit with a stiff wire and also soaking the chuck and blade with WD-40 helps also....
Usually it will take a combination of these things and some persistance to get the job done...

Locking device will not reset and lock blade in holder on a Bosch RS 15 Saw. .The locking device is up against the pin and will not rotate.

try using compressed air to blow out the area and then some WD-40 to loosen it up. They sell the holder as an assembly, You can go to and download a breakdown for this tool. It is usually some debris or rust that makes them stick.

I bought a delta scroll saw model number 40-540, the blade was broken. I need to know how to change the blade and what type of blade the saw takes. Thank you

your delta scroll saw has two blade attachment points one under the table and one in the arm. attach under the table first and then in the arm. that way you can be sure to adjust the tension properly.

there are only two styles of scroll saw blade, those with pins and straight blades without pins

look carefully at your saw and you will be able to see which type holder you have

If you see a set screw where the blade goes, loosen it a few turns. Then run the saw, it should spit out the broken blade. If it has a manual release for the blade, press the release while tapping the blade holder.

Rs20 bosch case falling apart

If you loosen the screws at the end of the saw that hold the boot on you can carefully snip the the rubber around the holes. This will alow you to remove the boot without dismantling the front of the saw. The boot is glued and they are sometimes difficult to remove. You can carefully take a flat blade screwdriver to peal the boot off and re-use it. Hope this helps
