The keyboard is not dead. I have contacted HP about this issue (DO NOT CALL THEM AND HAVE THEM FIX IT! THEY GAVE ME AN ESTIMATE OF $300!) they SAY that it is a hardware issue...

However have found more than one website saying that it is most likely the CMOS battery that has gone dead.

Prosario V2000 boot problem

This means that there is some component was not fixed well.

this error means: " press esc to change boot order"
"press F10 for setup press F12 to boot from lan"
with 2 beeps " that the system cannot find hard drive:

fixed every thing: and try this. if prompted to go setup , continue and find "load bios setup default and then save and exit.

I need a bit more info to try to give you an accurate solution

Does the screen change after you press "F1" ?

Do you have access to an external keyboard, if so try plugging that in while the computer is off and then using that to press "F1"
