doesn't sounds like you can find drivers for windows 7, but you may want to install the XP drivers on your computer instead (which might work just the same)

I want to instal a free sound driver on my HP compaq nx 310〈=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=0&prodSeriesId=449877&taskId=135 This link will let you choose your operating system and find the driver.  I saw a sound driver for windows vista, but did not see one for XP.  If it is for XP, let me know and I will see if I can find one.

Hi Jerry,

Sound Blaster is notorious for this problem, I have experienced it myself. Uninstall everything again, sorry it's a must, this time, do not use the cd for the initial driver install, download the latest driver first to your hard drive, uncompress the zip file to a folder on your desktop. Once you have the updated driver info ready, then install the hardware and use the new driver when asked by windows to install it, this should correct the problem. Also, make sure the default sound card is sound blaster using the control panel, sounds and audio devices, audio tab.
