Check connections specially the IDE cable, if it's the only HDD for the pc, make sure it's connected on the end part of the cable. You may also need to verify the jumper setting on the HDD. A diagram with the label on the HDD will show how to set it. Usually if it's the only HDD on the pc, it's supposed to be set to master. Good luck.

HARD DRIVE NOT EXIST ERROR!!!

If you installed Linux successfully on your hard disk then the hard disk is OK.
If you are installing Windows Xp and it does not detect the hard disk but the BIOS detects the hard disk then -
The problem is that XPinstallation CD does not have a SATA driver, unless you have a SATA drive on adisk etc. and can install the driver when XP asks for a hard drive driver then,XP cannot detect the hard disk and therefore won't install XP.The FIX.Go into the BIOS anddisable the SATA drive (enable IDE emulation), this will make XP think it is aIDE/PATA hard disk. Then you can install XP normally. When Windows hasbeen installed then install all the device drivers (including the SATA driver),then shut down and boot up and got into the BIOS and enable the SATA drive.

I am using a compaq presario SR 1435IL. I want to know whether i can use two internal hard disks and also upto what capacity is it supported I already have a 320 GB western digital hard disk. Does it...

hi, i believed there is no possible way of putting 2 internal HDD in 1 laptop, seems the area of the existing HDD inside is already limited and also crowded of some other parts...and its not designed for 2 HDD either. the best way for me to advice is upgrade the existing HDD to higher capacity from the existing " GB " to " T " or add up a big capacity 2.5 " pocket size external HDD.

I attached a sata hard disk in addition to the existing ide hard disk drive in my pt800ce-a motherboard. But the system cannot detect the said sata hard disk. what should i do?

If your existing system is IDE motherboard your new SATA drive will not work as it will have compatibility issue, also the MB will not support it.

The same goes for RAMs, 2 uncompatible RAMs will make the PC slow down or keep shutting down....

I guess you have used an adaptor to connect a SATA disk/cable to the IDE MB, check that, it may be the issue also.

Regards
pls leave a feedback and reply

Vista wil not boot .. screen says no bootable device

Get into Bios and
1. check if the computer can "see" your hard disk,2. check if the bootable device is the hard disk.
If these options are ok and problem still exists maybe our hard disk is damaged or bad connected.

Acer T-180 hangs at "Verifying DMI Data"

The cause of this problems is a corrupt boot files, Settings for hard disk drive are not correct,Floppy diskette or CD in computer causing issue, Boot devices not set properly, BIOS corrupt or misc. hard disk jumper setting not set properly, Connections loose or disconnected, Bad Hard disk drive or other bad hardware.

Note: Try this first. Check the cable setting of your hard disk in the BIOS. try swithching it to IDE, SATA, RAID. save your seetings and restart your computer.

if problem still exist... Follow this steps..

Step 1: If you have a USB stick with capacity of 4Gb and up or another hard disk... try installing a fresh Operating System in the USB stick or in the extra hard disk that you have.. after you install.. boot to bios and set the Primary boot in the extra hard disk or Removable Device (USB) save your settings and restart.. your computer will start normally booting the windows in your newly installed extra hard disk or USB stick. when you are in the Desktop, now try accessing your old hard disk and copy your files.. after you backup your files to the new installed hard disk. go to step 2.

Step 2: Turn off your computer... uninstalled the newly installed hard disk or USB.. after you uninstalled the hardware.. turn on your computer and reinstall your Operating System again. if the problem still exist go to step 3.

Step 3: if the problem stil exist. i think ther is something wrong with your hard disk.. try installing the OS again in second partitioned of your hard disk.. create first partition, then second partition. then installed your OS in second partition... if the problem still exist and you cannot go to windows desktop.. maybe your hard disk drive is damaged...

Hope I Can Help

Hard drive is full

Aquire disk imaging program such as norton ghost. Install 2nd, larger HDD into existing computer. Boot computer using ghost boot disk. "Image" existing HDD to newer, larger HDD.

Remove existing HDD. Set 'new' HDD to proper position (Master, etc).

Boot computer.
