Yo! i hope you know that you cannot open the files on your ipod just by opening as a device, you really have to install the itunes that works for the model of your ipod and there you can access the media files in it. you can also use your ipod as a memory drive by copying directly into it.
The "BEST" way to use any "external" device is to create one MORE copy of all your important files. If your MacBook dies, you have a copy of your files.
Or, if the external device dies, your MacBook still has a copy of your files. Safe!
The "WORST" way would be to copy your files to it *AND* delete the files from your Macbook,
and then to have the external device "die", killing the ONLY copy of your files. Ouch!
If the laptop cannot boot up then to retrieve your data then remove the hard drive from the laptop and connect it to an USB hard drive adapter. Then plug the adapter into a working computer's USB port. This computer will detect this as an external storage device. You can then click on this device and open the folders and files to copy and backup your data files.
Hi, you can copy music files in two ways: 1) Send via USB a) Install the Samsung PC Suite (driver) in your PC/Laptop. b) Connect the device with the PC/Laptop via the USB cable got. The PC suite will act as an interface for connecting the mobile to the PC. Use original USB cable for faster & efficient data transfer. c) The PC suite will give an interface for copying the music files to the mobile, Or, you can directly copy files by accessing the extra drive shown on the MyComputer which denotes the mobile device's memory.
2) Send via Bluetooth If you have an active bluetooth device available in your PC/Laptop then just send files to the mobile after searching the mobile.
A 'U3' device is _more_ than just an "ordinary" flash-drive.
You can install software onto a 'U3' device, i.e., a copy of Microsoft Office, and then you can take your data files _and_ your copy of the software _with_ you, and connect to any computer, and access your software and your files.
probably lost all info but can save drive if its like a cruzer ... first with drive inserted go to computer and see what drive it is ie: D:, E: etc. open CMD... on XP go to run type CMD ... in Vista type CMD in the search by start and open command prompt. Type drive letter followed by : (example F:) then press enter now it should look like this F:\>_ now type "DIR" enter and you will see any files on that drive, to copy and try to save files type "copy F:\filename C:\newfolder" now this is just an example so make sure you create a folder to copy to prior to this copy function after you copy all files you need then you can delete files that are preventing it from working in my case I deleted all files and started over. To delete files ... At the prompt type "DEL F:\filename" do this with each file, if you need to know functions in command, at the prompt type "help" when you finish you should be able to format the drive and put your files back on .... good luck
Perhaps you're hitting a faulty memory card. Have you tried a different memory card in your camera to perform the same?
If possible, also try that same card in another camera capable device such as another PocketPC device or better yet, a memory card reader and perform the same operation tests on that card.
the copy would fail at the same file, once so much space had been filled. At that point, It could no longer add additional files. You could try copying a large directory of files and see if the copy always fails at the same spot or if you can't copy files once the card hits ??MB. i.e., on the faulty part card, as soon as I hit the size mb, It could no longer add more files. also Use a card reader that accesses the card directly as an external drive...
does the pc recognise the device when you connect it? if so you should be able to access the drive which contains the mp4 folders. very rare that they will be kept on the top level of the drive. navigate to the folder on the device which would normally contain your mp4 files and drag files from your storage backup folder direct to the device. checking that you have the files in the correct format ie: .mp4 you should find they play fine. try to avoid wherever possible using the acctual software which controls your music device as they are prone to complications.
IF YOU PASSWORD PROTECT THE INFORMATION YOU WILL NEED THE PASSWORD TO ACCESS THE FILE UNLESS
THE FILES ARE CORRUPT THAN EVEN WITHA PASS WORD THE USB DEVICE WILL NOT ALOOW ACCESS TO THE INFORMATION THIS KEEP YOU FROM CORRUPTING THE HARD DRIVE OR WHAT EVERY DRIVE YOU WNAT TO COPY TO. JUST DELETE THE OLD ONE AND RECOPY THE FILES IF YOU CAN.

LETS SAY THE DILE ON THE FLASH DRIVE ARE IMPORTANT AND YOU CANNOT GET ANOTHER COPY, THERE ARE PROGRAM THAT ARE FREE ANTI VIRUS PROGRAMS THAT WILL TRY AND FIX THE CORRUPTED FILE SO YOU CAN ACCESS THE FILES, BUT
IM NOT SURE WHAT COMPANYS HAVE THAT OPTION IN THERE PROGRAM, NORTANS DISK DOCTOR I THINKS HAS ONE, MAYBE EVEN THE COMPANY YOU BOUGHT YOUR FLASH DRIVE I MEAN THE VENDER MAY HAVE SOFTWARE TO FIX ISSUES ON THE FLASH DRIVE DEVICE
The pin should not be necessary if you are operating your garmin in your 'secure location' that you established when you enabled the garmin lock feature.
