Question about RCA F36685 36" TV

Open Question

Our t.v.'s audio is not working.

Every time we turn the t.v. on the volume automatically goes down and we cant control the volume on the remote. So we have to turn on the warranty lock for there to be sound, which takes up half of the monitor. When i put the warranty lock on it shows the hours it expires. Can we program it on the remote?

Please reply, thank you so much!
Edwin

have you tried disconnecting the button panel on the tv itself to see if the volume still goes down? Sounds like it could be a bad button.

SOURCE: Volume goes up on its own and stays up.

Aren you sure that the volume up button is not stuck in . It should feel just like the rest of them A little click? It could still be shorted,or the capacitor across the switch could be defective. If all this seems good then the eeprom, or the microprocessor,or the line or trace going to the volum button could be shorted. This is not a repair you should attempt unless your a tech. Now the button thong can be looked at after the set is unpluged and the back is off, gently slide out the chassis toward the rear of the set just a little and slide it back to see if the button is released. if that dosent help then you will need to take the set to The repair center. Good Luck

SOURCE: RCA 36 in. tv no volume

It is not a loose solder joint. It is not a faulty capacitor. Usually, a spray cleaner or some other fluid is sprayed or spilled onto the top or front of the TV and it seeps down inside and contaminates the little pushbuttons. If the volume down pushbutton is contaminated, the set will have the exact symptoms you are seeing.I have seen this many, many times, and once I saw a pushbutton contaminated with cigarette smoke. The pushbuttons should be checked and/or replaced by a qualified tech.

SOURCE: Volume pegs to max. Turns itself on. Goes to menu. Intermittent

This is becoz your Internal Remote control response program chip needs to be replaced! You need it to get repaired at nearest service station. Or it may be due to Your keys pressed continously from remote control. Check both the causes! then decide. It will help you!

Assuming your receiver came with the ability to be remotely controlled, then yes, a universal remote such as the Logitech Harmony etc, will be able to control the volume.

Tv volume control

the volume controler board on the tv could be at fault. the button could be damaged and connecting the circuit making the volume go up. failing that there is a cross feed some were on the feed were the wire from the control buttons go to the main board, dust a damp can cause this. or even just dust.

When I put batteries back in remote control it automatically turns volume down, when I take batteries out everything seems to work OK manually

Hello,
It seems like the volume button is stuck on the remote itself. If you can, try and clean the remote and see if you can free that button.

I have a philips Matchline tv (29pt6361/79r) the tv works fine except it automatically turns the volume down without any buttons on the remote or tv being pushed

well depends on how far it turns the volume down as to what the cause is and if the volume bar on screen display comes on when the vol. goes down. if it just goes down a little you probably have the "smart sound" setting turned on in the audio menu turn it off and see if prob. goes away. if the vol. bar comes on the screen whenever the vol. goes down the you most likely have a bad button on your front panel and it doesn't have to be the vol. down button. it you think it is the button it would need solder work to be changed most likely shop job.

Sony 36' TV Volume Goes up on own/Stuck on Video 2

There's a setting in the menu. I think it's called "smart audio". It's supposed to adjust the volume automatically for commercials. But I don't think it works that well. Give that a try.
