Question about HP Photosmart C3180 All-In-One InkJet Printer
The printer was on and connected to the computer during a lightning storm. A new motherboard fixed the computer. But now the printer will make copies, but won't print from the computer. The OS (win XP) seems to find the printer, but reports a problem with the USB connection. I was hoping there was a single USB chip that could be replaced, but I don't have a schematic. I have several ink cartridges on hand for this printer, so it seems worthwhile to try to fix it.
You may have to reinstall the printer software. The computer may have lost the printer driver and the connection recognition.
if not, try a different USB port, and replace the USB cable if necessary
