I have a 20.1 Dish remote controller. I would like to use the AUX selection to operate my Denon AV receiver. Can you help me with this?

Depending on the age of your receiver, this may be possible. Turn on the receiver. Then press and hold the Aux button until all of the mode buttons light up. Press 2 to tell the remote that the unit to be controlled is an audio receiver. Then you will need to try one of the Denon 3-digit codes. Press # and check that the mode flashes 3 times. Check if your receiver turns off. If it does, check if the other buttons work to control the receiver. Otherwise try another Denon code by starting at the press and hold the Aux button step.

If you want the remote only to control the volume, mute and power functions of the receiver, press 1 after entering the three-digit code and before pressing the # key.

The Denon device codes to try are 669 670 680 682 696
744 759 760 762 792 809 . You can find the directions for programming the Aux key on page 11-12 of the manual. The code list for audio devices starts on page 43. The manual is available from Dish here: https://www.mydish.com/filestream.ashx?ID=3025 . Usually the code list for universal remote features will not always work with devices that were released less than 6 months before the remote was programmed. Devices released after the remote was programmed are similarly not guaranteed to be supported.

I hope this helps.

Sound just stopped is there something I can do?

Check whether the audio is muted by accidental press at remote control button. Enter its sound menu, and check it. If muted, as you know there will be no audio output. If not muted, check the speaker/s. If found OK; check and replace the damaged component/s at its audio output section circuit board. If needy, replace this board as card basis. Hi, just connected a Blu Ray player to my sytem. I connected the player via HDMI direct to the TV and the audio output direct into Optical 2 on the Denon. Problem is that there is no sound. Also...

We can't make assumptions about proper and complete setup if you don't explicitly mention the steps involved, so... did you assign and select the digital inputs properly?

Page 23 etc

BTW: I concur with your decision to send the video directly to the TV from the BD even though Denon and others expect it to make a hop through the receiver first.

Get into your BD and find its audio out setup. Make sure its settings for digital audio output bit rates, speaker presence, type, size, distance and bass-handling are set correctly.

No sound

No sound is output when a function is selected:
• Make sure the component is connected correctly (refer to
pages 11–16).
• Press MUTE on the remote control to turn muting off.
• Adjust the MASTER VOLUME.
• Press the MONITOR button to turn monitoring off.

let us know if more troubleshooting is needed.

Sound went out today. Mute is not on, and all

Does it think you have headphones connected? If you have headphones, check to see if they have sound output.

I lost sound from my Denon AVR 682 last night. Display and video are coming fine, but no sound on any input source setting. I have also noticed that a loud click noise that used to come after turning it on...

Reseat all audio connectors sometimes they get dirty. Do you have surge protection? Do any other audio functions work? Clean your remote change the batteries the mute may be stuck. I vote for the battries being weak and the remote will not clearly send all signals.

No sound when on internet radio, playtime is running, volume is not muted, internet ok

It was solved by turning the receiver off with the power button (not stand-by). After turning on the netradio did have its sound back. Apparantly it must be running some sort of Windows os.
