Question about RCA OPAL M4001 MP3 Player

USB to RCA adaptor

Came across your site whilst Googling to see if anyone makes an adaptor that allows connection of an MP3 player (via USB) to 2 RCA phonos, so you can play the MP3 through a Line In or Aux input on a hi-fi.

Thanks drlalitv, however what I'm looking for will need female USB to accept my MP3 and most likely some circuitry to correct the output signal to that required to match into RCA aux / line socket on a hifi.

I Need an AC Adaptor for this item

Usually MP3 players are charged via the USB cable when connected to a computer.
You can also charge the player with a 5 volt USB mains adapter. These are available in electronics stores and on the Internet.

Cannot figure out how to download music on my visual land v-touch mp3 player?????

Put your music onto windows media player, rip from CDs. Connect your MP3 to the computer via a usb cable and sync the music across, making sure to use the safe disconnection mode. But before all this, install your mp3 as hardware onto your computer.

This unit charges via the USB cord when it is directly connected to your computer or other device with a USB port. You can also purchase a home AC adaptor but as far as I am aware this does not come as standard with the unit itself.

Hope this helps. Thanks for using FixYA.

My Opal is not changing from the Intializing screen!!!! How do i fix this!!!

Consulting the RCA site gives next steps for initializing screen:
Step 1: Disconnect your Player
Step 2: Reset your Player
  1. If your Player uses AA or AAA batteries, remove them from the Player
  2. If your Player uses an internal battery, press and hold the POWER button for 10 seconds
Step 3: Hold down the PLAY key on your Player and connect it to the PC via a USB cable.

Step 4: Release the PLAY key when a progress bar and text, "initializing" appears on the Players display. If you cannot see the "initializing" text, please disconnect your Player and try again.

Great another problem to deal with...

Walmart won't have the cable separately. If it is within their 14 day return policy, and you have the receipt, you can swap it out for a new one. The software that you need to make the player Vista-compatible is available for free on the RCA Opal website, You can call RCA and see if they will send you the right cable - most electronics companies don't have an overnight option, but there are exceptions here and there. Good luck!

Rca easyrip installer: You must have a supported rca digital media player connected to complete the rca easy rip installation.......?

Some PCs, such as Dell laptops, report unexpectedly when easyRip is determining whether a device is connected via one of the USB ports, so trying an alternative port is recommended.

You can download the latest version of easyRip at the following site:

RCA OPAL M4002 mp3 player

Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.
