Question about Office Equipment & Supplies

1 Answer

I have a Lexmark x4270 printer and for two years no problems. I replaced my color and black cartridges and now I have a message that says the color cartridge is missing. This is stopping my printer from printing. A message comes up stating that the computer can not communicate with the printer.

The printer cartridge might be loosed, remove this again and re-install one more time and do the ink calibration in order for your printer ot recognize the prensence of a new ink, the restart your printer again

Black Cartriddge missing

Try taking out both cartridges from your printer. Re-brick your printer by pulling out the power supply, black box where the power cord is plugged in at the back of the printer, and put it back after 30 seconds. When the printer turns on, re-insert your color cartridge then close the cover. If no error appears, re-insert your black cartridge. If error still appears, then it could be a faulty cartridge. It would be best to replace it with a new cartridge, preferably a genuine one. Lexmark products work best when original supplies are used.

Lexmark X4270 gives an error cartridge missing. It is not missing. what is the problem

Make sure you are using genuine Lexmark black cartridge. Lexmark does not recommend the use of refilled, re-manufactured or clone cartridges. You might not get the print quality you expect from ink that is specially formulated by Lexmark.
Try to reinsert your black cartridge and make sure it is properly seated in the cartridge carrier. If error comes back up right after placing it in the printer, then it could be a faulty cartridge. Try to replace it with a new genuine Lexmark cartridge. If you are already using a genuine Lexmark cartridge, please contact Lexmark Technical Support Center for additional assistance.

I have error 1200 on my lexmark x4270 fax machine after installing new black cartridge.

The 1200 error code indicates that the cartridge carrier has stalled. It could be due to the new black cartridge installed in the printer. Make sure you are using the correct version of black cartridge for your model and it's properly inserted in the cartridge carrier.
To remedy the problem, try to remove the black cartridge from the carrier > close the cover > unplug and re-plug the printer into the power source to reset it > when the printer turns on, re-insert the new black cartridge > check for any errors. If problem continues, try to insert a different known working black cartridge to determine if the new one is faulty.

Have Lexmark 4200 series all-in-one center. I just replaced black cartridge (71) and it keeps giving us an message - Black Cartridge Missing. The tape is off, I've unplugged it, I search for the #71...

It could be that your cartridge needs some cleaning or the cartridge is not seated properly in the carrier. Open the printer cover. Remove the cartridge and wipe the cartridge nozzles with a moistened soft cloth to clean it from dirts and clogs. Close the printer cover. Unplug and replug the printer into the power outlet in the wall to reset it. When the printer turns on, reinsert the black cartridge and make sure it's properly inserted.

Color ink cartridge

Well due to some problem in cartridge you would be facing this problem.however you can do try this.

Please clean your cartridge once again with some spirit.

Fix it well in the printer afterward.

Than use normal paper and print in color.

If than also it does not work that means the bar-code of the cartridge has problem in it so the printer is unable to read that code, so for that you need to change the whole cartridge.

Or if your printer had valid in warranty period and it still in that period just give it to a service center.

If you still had any confusion regarding the same problem or nay other please do reply.

I have a all in one printer from Lexmark X4270. I recently purchase the black ink cartridge, but it doesn't recognize the cartridge has been installed and it keeps flashing "missing cartridge". What is...

Unfortunately I suspect there is a major fault that isn't worth repairing.

My father had a X1270 which developed a similar fault which could not be cured with cleaning or replacement cartridges. Dismantling it revealed no physical problems with connectors or cables, so it had to be the electronics.

Cost of a repair by a Lexmark agent would be far more than a new printer ! Printer only 15 months old when fault appeared.

My father has now moved and his new neighbour has just thrown his Lexmark in the bin - also less than two years old.

Personally would not touch a Lexmark again.

Lexmark x5470, alignment error

hi alyciaadamo;
im not sure but i think uninstalling and reinstalling will not get the printer set back to default settings. can you navigate through the menu even if you see the error? press the cancel or something? if you can, look for reset factory settings.

also try to remove all the ink cartridge, and power cable from the printer, wait for 30mins and try it back.

I just want to know if your using genuine lexmark ink for you printer. :)

Color cartridge error

Clean the needle-like contacts where the cartridge-contacts lean on when inserted in the printer.
And push them a few times with clean finger, maybe one of them does not push back on cartridge if the printer is not new.
If all "needles" are at the same level and clean, it should work, especially with genuine Lex cartridge.

If not, then the fact that this issue occured when using a compatible cartridge is pure coincidence and your printer has an age problem, maybe it can be solved by Lexmark specialist but the cost of repair will be higher then buying a new printer.

No color printing with lexmark x4270

How may times did you use the printer to print befor this happened? If you used it a lot then you may need to buy more ink. My printer showed full ink and it turned out that they were empty.
