The navigation button on all of our headsets re startint to not work. some won't go to the address book, some we are unable to chrck the caller id. it lights up, and that's about it. we have the Uniden TRU9485-4 5.8 GHz Digital Cordless Phone Answering System w

    the solution sent DID NOT fix our problem. We have 2 bases(TRU9480) and 3 handsets(TRU9480), the solution did not cause the navagation buttions to work properly. The phone will light up when the button is pressed, but it does not do what it's supposed to do, as far as function. ANy other suggestions/solutions?

    None of the posted solutions worked for us. What we ended up doing is removing the navigation button, and now the feature is working

To reset, do the following:
Press and hold [phone symbol ] and [#] for more than 5 seconds. Select DEREGISTER HS.
WHICH HANDSET? appears. Select the handset that you want to de-register, and press the OK soft key.
DEREGISTER HS appears. Select YES, and press the OK soft key.
ARE YOU SURE? appears. Select YES, and press the OK soft key. You will hear a confirmation tone. The
handset will clear its registration information from the base, and then delete its own base information.
MODELS VARY! PLACE HANDSET ON THE BASE FOR REGISTRATION OR REFER TO OWNER’S MANUAL

If that doesn't work, you may have to get your handset repaired. Here is a site where you can order repair.

Resetting by removing all the connections and then refitting them all again should work out.but if that does not work then it is quite possible that this is a moisture problem on the main circuit board of the device.just take a hair dryer and blow hot air on the main board for few minutes.and then refit all the connections and check out it will work.also clean if any dirt seen on the board with a tissue paper.

1. Disconnect Battery from handset(s)
2. Disconnect Phone Cord from wall jack
3. Disconnect Phone cord from base unit
4. Disconnect AC adapter from wall outlet
5. Allow to sit for 30 min
6. Reconnect Phone Cord to base
7. Reconnect Phone cord to wall jack
8. Reconnect AC Adapter to wall outlet
9. Reconnect Battery to hanset until you click or feel the plug snap into place
10. Re-Register Handset by placing on main base in most instances.

Unplug all the sets from power and phone cable, this should reset the system.

    Try first resetting the system, by unplugging all cable, just to ensure that this is not a setting or a system problem.

    If the navigation button is starting to go because the button is faulty after a prolonged usage, then the only reasonable way to fix it is by buying a replacement handset.

    Glad to know you fixed, surely " removing the navigation button" is a brutal solution, and surely we cannot suggest you to break your phones.

    I told you it was a faulty button at start, then it is not true that "None of the posted solutions worked for us", on Fixya you need to read all solution.

    4 days ago I told you: "If the navigation button is starting to go because the button is faulty
    after a prolonged usage, then the only reasonable way to fix it is by
    buying a replacement handset."

    Surely I could not suggest to break your phone keyboard.

Panasonic KX-TA624/824 automatic Caller ID logging How to set up automatic Caller ID logging
in the KX-TA624 phone system with KX-T7735 phones. (for dash four and five, and KX-TA824)

System Programming:
  1. In System Program number 900, enable Caller ID for the lines you have Caller ID on. (To get into system programming, press Program * # 1234.)
  2. In System Program number 901, select your own area code and any other area codes that don't have to be dialed when making a call. The area code digits are removed from Caller ID log information so you can return a call without dialing unnecessary digits which would mess up the call.
  3. In System Program number 902, if necessary, indicate the number of digits to be removed, and a particular digit (usually 1) that might have to be added, when returning a local phone call. The default programming is to remove the first three digits, and add nothing; which is correct for most locations.
  4. In System Program 903, if necessary, indicate the number of digits to be removed, and up to 4 digits that might have to be added, when returning a long distance phone call. The default programming is to not remove any digits, and add a 1; which is correct for most locations.
  5. In System Program number 909, enable Call Log Assignment for each phone where you want to log Caller ID information. You can use * to indicate you want logging at all phones.
  6. Get out of system programming. (Press Hold or End, then Program.)
Phone Programming:
  1. Program a button for Caller ID Indication on each phone where you want to log Caller ID information. Press Program, then the button you want to use for Caller ID Indication (we recommend the top button in the left column), then 96, then Store, then Hold, then Program. (If you want a phone to record Caller ID information individually, rather than for the whole system, use 6 instead of 96.)
  2. At each phone where you want to log all calls, press intercom, then 7382#.
User Tips:
  • The Caller ID Indication button will light up only when the system has logged UN-answered calls.
  • Use the Navigator Key at the lower right corner of the phone to scroll through Caller ID information.
  • You can erase the entire Caller ID log by pressing Intercom, then 70**#
  • You can erase an individual Caller ID record by pressing Transfer while the information is displayed.
  • If your phone does not have a Navigator Key, you can program an available button for Caller ID Selection. Press Program, then the button you want to use for Caller ID Selection, then 97, then Store, then Hold, then Program. (If you want a phone to record Caller ID information individually, rather than for the whole system, use 7 instead of 97.)
  • To call a number displayed on the Caller ID log, pick up the handset or press the speakerphone button, and press the Caller ID Indication button.

I have caller ID service for our business account and our phone has a Caller ID button, but it doesn't seem to work?


I you're running on a CiX or CTX platform, you're dealer or system administrator needs to enter the amount of CID calls to be buffered on that particular phone. This can only be done via the System Administration Program.

I cannot get the caller ID to work on all phones. We are currently using 4 phones in the office and the caller ID works on 3 of the 4.


The RCA 25413 phone does not have caller ID capability. I have included a link where you can download the manual. On page 16 of the manual it says in a note that caller ID does not apply to the 25413 model phone.

Can not get caller-id to work. service provider says problem on my end


According to the manual, this phone is not able to do Caller ID. I have included a link where you can download the manual. On page 29 there is a note that Caller ID is not applicable to model 25423.

cannot see the caller id working or it doesn't display the number of who is calling. bought these phones a month and half ago.

KX-TG6071M 5.8 GHz talking caller id not working


Hi trinigirl, You should not have to do anything to make the caller id information come through. There is no programming to perform for the regular caller id identification on your display after the second ring (it takes at least one ring cycle for the digital information to pass through). Your model also has the talking caller id function, which will announce in English the callers name or a custom name you can prepare in the phone book of handset number 1. With all that said, you are not getting caller id showing after the second ring, then your phone is bad (which is pretty rare for this symptom), or your phone line still does not have caller id activated. To troubleshoot your problem you need another phone line with working caller id and/or a different phone that is known good to pass caller id. That way you can interchange the phones/lines to see if it is your line or your phone. My guess it is your line somehow, though I have fixed phones that won't pass caller id, but rarely. If it is your phone, try rebooting it, thats about all you can do short of sending it in for repair. Let me know how it goes. CG
