Question about Roper RAX4233PQ Top Load Washer

Washer will not spin, during rinse & I'm assuming spin cycle

Roper, Whirlpool top load 7 speed, 2 speed washer. History, machine would spin very slowly during spin cycle. I tore the ****** down, cleaned everything, changed oil ~ gears in great shape. Only thing out of the normal, found a gold anodized pin that was between tub unit and upper mounting unit (?) Pin is .20 dia by 2.0 overall length, .30 dia head x .08 long. along complete shaft a ground flat .165 from edge of OD. Pin comes to a point with .08 through hole for a cross pin. Very little wear marks on the OD by the head....... Now I have zero spin. Thoughts?

Either the wire going to motor for non working speed is loose or damaged, or motor is bad. It could also possibly be timer not sending power to motor for that speed.

Loud banging noise during rinse

Most noises from a washing machine occur during the rinse or spin cycle. If you hear loud thumping during the spin, the load of clothes may have become unbalanced. Stop the washer and redistribute the clothes, then re-start it. Repeat these steps if necessary. This will solve your problem.

Whirlpool top Loading washing machine won't spin on spin cycle

If the washer won't finish a spin cycle, it probably means that your timer went bad or stalled. You can take the control panel off and look at the contacts for scorching or corrosion.

Roper washer does not drain

Alicia7q : Faulty water pump or restriction in drain line between tub and outlet hose.

arlenekc,: That metal thing is part of the motor. What you have is a leaking water pump.

badwasher,: Check the lid switch. This machine will not spin or drain if the switch is faulty.
