How to clean up start up processes

Questions about optimize start up:
How to remove program from start up?
My computer boots very slow? How do I clean up start up processes?
Windows startup very slow, how to fix it?

Why clean up start up processes?
Windows Startup program will load the default programs or processes you add to your computer. The test result shows a new system only boot within 30 seconds. As you install antivirus program or other applications, it becomes very slow. Sometimes, the startup gets bloated not due to your computer behaviors. Malicious software is prone to add useless processes on startup without your known. You are not aware that your computer becomes more and more slow until serious computer problem occurs. Don’t ignore a slow start up, it is the root of Blue Screen and computer freezing.

How to clean up start up processes?
The first thing you should do is to remove spyware or adware from your computer. I prefer to AVG, it is a free anti-virus program. If you want to clean virus completely, you need boot in safe mode and disconnect your Internet.

Hok is a professor with over ten year’s computer experience. He suggest us use ErrorFix. This is a pc optimize tool which can clean up system registry entries, useless program, start up processes and junk files. With this program, your computer will be obviously improved. Just a few clicks, you can remove processes that slow your computer.

What’s more to speed up your computer?
Do not download Peer-to-Peer Download Software! Maybe you are using some software such like YouTube Downloader. These are probably some of the least likely contenders for system-slowdown but they are popular on the internet. Those kinds of program can take up memory space and damage your computer. Also they can automatically add itself as your start up.

Tip

My laptop is running too slow.

Hi.

The most common reason for a computer running slow is insufficient RAM memory.
Check specifications on manufacturer website to find out the kind of memory supported and the maximum RAM allowed.

A computer running Windows Vista should have at least 2 GB to run smoothly.

Increase the RAM, if RAM available is no more than 512MB, then it must be surely and immediately upgraded.

Check also your hard drive free space. If you have less than 1GB free space on hard disk, Windows will have to write continuously virtual memory pages to hard disk, and that will slow down the processing speed. Also check fragmentation. Files pieces may be distributed in different areas of the hard disk, resulting in slower reading speed.
Go to
Start>>Programs>Accessories>System Tools>Disk Defregmenter and do a Defrag of the hard disk if needed.

If you have at least 1 GB RAM on XP or Linux, and 2 GB on Vista, and you took care of your hard drive, then you can check the processes that are starting up automatically and remove the useless one, or spot malaware that can affect speed. You can use a software like Hijack This, and search on google te function of each process started on the list reported by the software.

You can download Hijack this here MajorGeeks | If download does not start, then click at the top of the page, where it says Click Here If It Does Not.
Be careful if you delete the wrong files using this software you can harm the system, and Windows may not work properly.

If you think you have malaware you can also install Spy Bot, and do a system scan. Download Spybot from The home of Spybot.

If all the above does not work, and there is no malaware, then you usually reinstall the system.

Check also the bios settings, BIOS can downgrade the CPU speed on default , even if this is uncommon on recent BIOS.

If a computer is still slow with a fresh system and enough resources then it is one of those rare occasions when you have an hardware fault.
Hardware that can cause slow down is: RAM CPU Motherboard HD Video card.

Some tips on procedure can damage your windows installation. Do not download Hijackthis software and do not change BIOS settings and do not touch hardware unless you are sure of what you are doing.

I have an EEE PC Netbook running on Windows XP (not sure what Service pack, maybe 2?). I have the discs that came with it, etc. The issue I have is that the Hard Disk is partitioned into 2 sections. I...

The 2nd partition (D:) may be your Factory Recovery Partition? How large is it? I would do a Cleaning and some Tweaking of the Laptop first. Use these two Freeware programs to help with the cleanup. 1, CCLEANER: http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/ Run the cleaner, look at the Applications tab to customize your cleaner, Runthe registry cleaner, delete all results, Open the TOOLS section, select the STARTUP section, disable ALL unnecessary startup programs to speedup start and running, Use the UNINSTALLER to remove Any/All unnecessary programs. 2, download freeware MALWAREBYTES: http://www.filehippo.com/download_malwarebytes_anti_malware/ In the install UNCHECK the TRIAL PRO version, you want the freeware version, Run a FULL scan, delete ALL results, reboot. Run a FULL scan with your up-to-date Anti Virus, delete ALL results. Do ALL your Windows Updates and Laptop Manufacturer's updates. Use this procedure for more Speed Up/Cleanup tips: http://www.wikihow.com/Speed-up-a-Windows-XP-Computer Can you open the 2nd Partition? What's on it?

I have hp compaq nc6400 1.66 ram 1gb but duraing windows installation very slow plz send me soulation

Firstly you have to do a locally or remotly backup of all your documents cause in this process you may loose some of your vital document. Check to see if your Operating System (OS) is up to date. Or you can do a Restore if you have creat One. Its a Software issue and once you Re-install your Operating stsrem all will be fine.

The most common reason for slow startup is slow processing speed, often because of insufficient RAM memory.

Increase the RAM, if RAM available is no more than 512MB, then it must be upgraded.

Check also your hard drive state. If you have less than 1GB free, that will slow down the system. Go to Start>>Programs>Accessories>System Tools>Disk Defregmenter and do a Defrag of the hard disk.

If you have at least 1 GB RAM, and you took care of the hard drive, then you can check the process starting up on their own and remove the useless one, or spot mala-ware that can affect speed.
