Hi! Some of my HP 2217ap laptop keys do not work. How can I fix it if keyboard is clean?

Yes it can , If you know what your doing , open the laptop up to expose the keyboard , then clean and dry the keys very well and put it back together , let me know what happens ,,,,,,Goodluck Roy

keyboard doesn't work usually caused the path of the key on the keyboard is dirty by the dust and liquid.
1. remove the keyboard from the laptop (see instruction how to replace keyboard)
2. remove all the key (you should do this step carefully because the mounting of the keyboard is weak)
3. you will see the key path of your keyboard clean it using some alcohol better 90% alcohol (you can find it on drug store)

Do you have an HP Accidental Damage extended warranty? If you do, you can call HP's tech support and get it fixed/replaced.

If you don't have the extra warranty, you can try to carefully pop the keyboard keys off and carefully clean underneath as the contacts below the keys are possibly stuck in the down position.

You may have to take it to a service centre and have a technician open up the laptop and see if it can be cleaned and try to "unstuck" the keyboard keys.

Your Keyboard is most likely to be screwed. A drop of coffee is enough to damage it. You will have to replace the keyboard. cleaning will work onlly if something is obstructing you from pressing the keys.

try having your laptop checked by a competent technician... there might be an obstruction in your keyboard (like dust) which causes the key to stuck and have it cleaned

This is generally a sensitivity issue with the keyboard. It's usually caused when the rubber depressors that activate each key start getting worn. Sometimes you can take each key off individually, take off the rubber depressor and clean the contact point on the keyboard and up inside the depressor where it makes contact. Clean it with with rubbing alcohol and Q-tips. This is alot of work and only fixes the problem about 60% of the time. Your only other option is replacing the keyboard.

If a key is popped up, its better to replace the keyboard instead of trying to put it back on the laptop.

You can call HP they will always replace the keyboard, if the key popped up.

If you dont have warranty you can better buy a new keyboard.

It is better to but a new keyboar, than to give someoone the same money to replace the old one.
