Yes, it is an extra usb K/B and mouse. Since the onboard k/b and mouse doesn't work, I tried with the usb ones. They did not even get recognized in windows (XP) or pre windows (boot time).

is it an extra other usb keyboard and mouse youve added to test ?
and if its both k/b and mouse you probably have a driver issue with the USB porst of conflicts...

can you use access the PC?

How on earth do u use the mouse and keyboard for Acer Aspire Z5600/Z5610. Hubby cant use touch screen, please help?

There should be a USB receiver inside the battery compartment of your mouse.
Plug it in to the computer and try using the connect button on the keyboard and mouse.
That should do the trick.

Wireless keyboard & mouse will not connect

Would try going into the device manager in the control panel and make sure that the usb dongle is being identified correctly by windows. Also, would unplug any other usb devices so that they are not interfering.

Keyboard and mouse not working on Acer M1100 Vista entry page

If that case is the problem then try and use a USB (Universal Serial Bus ) mouse and keyboard if it work then try your mouse and keyboard you formally use on another system if it work then there is a problem with your mouse and keyboard Port.ok

Yours may be a little old computer and the cmos battery (on the mother board)is drained out. Replace this battery. You need a working keyboard.
