Question about Canon Printers & Copiers

I have a pixma mp10 scaner and printer it will not scan the light flashes E and 6. What can I do to fix this? Barbara Nash

Halo Barbara,
Did you mean Pixma MP140/160/150/170/180?. I never hear Canon pixma MP10. Well,it doesn't matter. Did you refill your cartridge?. Error code E6 indicates that ink level is not detected properly by the printer. It usually occurs in refilled cartridge. To fix this problem you need to deactivate ink level detection function by performing following procedure:
For MP150/160/170/180: Press START button (Black or Colour)
For MP140: Hold down STOP/RESET button for about 9 seconds

posibly the scaner drivers are not installes or corupt,, go to the manufactures site and down load the scan drivers for your make and model ,,hope this helps

This correction is listed on the Canon website. Lock Switch Make sure to unlock the scanning unit before turning the machine on.
  1. Lift the document cover open.

  2. Slide the scanner lock switch to the release mark.


    Caution : Make sure to unlock the Scanning Unit (Printer Cover) before turning the machine on.Before transporting the machine, always lock the Scanning Unit (Printer Cover) by moving the Scanner Lock Switch towards the lock mark.

  3. Close the document cover.

  4. Press to turn off the machine.

  5. Wait approximately 5 seconds then press to power back on the printer.

MP160 canon printer. Flashes "E" then "4" then "2" on screen. The "alarm" light is flashing too. No paper jammed. powered on/off. Reinserted ink cartridges. Problem remains. Thank you. From Mel


This error means that you have scaner trouble, most likely the scaner is stucked, or the main logic pcb is faulty.
Try to remove copy glass and manually walk the scaner few times and put him in left position, grease it.
If doesnt help, the best way is to buy new printer.Logic board is too expensive for repair.

Canon pixma mp190, prints and copies but computer says scanner not connected when I try to scan? any answers?


I suggest you uninstall the full system scaner, printer & coppier unplug it totally. then restart it run cd, then plug the device again after finish installetion restart it and try it. i wish you find good result.

How do i scan a document from my MP530. i hit the scan button and nothing happens. I can copy, fax and print OK


You need to reinstall the scaner software with the option to scan to word or any other application that the scan botton will activate when the scan botton is pressed.

MP210 can't scan without catridge


it is not possible without cartridge because it is not only a scaner or printer it is a copier

Hi.
  1. put the document on the scaner.
  2. turn on the unit.
  3. press scan on unit or using the utility that comes with it.
  4. then attach it to an email.
