Hi! Was the initial install an upgrade or New? if you upgraded then the 2 operating systems showing are 1. Windows old( Possibly Xp?) or 2. Vista. It is impossible I think to load 2 operating systems simultaneously. (Windows usually interrupts Boot)
Try turning of P.c. with Vista Cd in drive, Turn on and hopefully you should get message Press any Key to boot from C.d. hit any key. Windows will load files then key in your locality and keyboard preferences then it should ask you if fresh install or Repair. Try the repair option.

Hi,
Please reinstall vista although this time look at the bottom screen at the page it lets you chose the installation destination and you'll see Drive Manager where you could erase/delete the partitions you've got on your hard drive and then choose the empty space where windows vista will recreate and reformat the drive automatically then install vista for you.
Thank you,
agadycom.

About the wireless light... most likely the vista will find and correct the driver for the WLAN although there is a chance you'll have to reinstall few of the drivers by reinstalling the CD of drivers you got when you have purchased your computer... if you don't have the CD you could always go to the manufacture website and look for drivers and support section, type the model number of your laptop, choose the correct operating system and downlowd the current/latest driver (in your case WLAN) and then install it and follow the instructions.

    Thank you for choosing agadycom.

if your asking to install XP on top of vista.. if you do not like vista, then ur listening to your friends who have no idea what their talking about because its awesome and when windows 7 comes out youll be stunned...this is verry easy if you have XP disc ready, restart your computer you need to wipe ur hard drive to get rid of the old operating system, first save any thing you want thus wiping hard drive saves nothing.... techniquly its still there but ya....put in disc of XP and run the disc to install XP,. How to Install windows XP in SONY VAIO Vista

Is it ok if your files get lost forever?  If it is then what you have to do is when it says if you want to partition a hard drive space, you delete the biggest parition (which wipes any and all vista and files of the computer.)  Then it will ask you which partition you want use.  Use the one you just deleted, whhich is the biggest one.  It will ask you to format it and stuff, just go with it.  Then you will have XP instead of Vista!  (Warning: I warned you above that this way will wipe of vista and any other files-documents-photos-everything off your comptuer)

Bluetooth not installing on WinXP

Hi,

I looks like Acer designed this Notebook for Windows Vista only.

Have you wiped Vista and installed XP instead? If so is there a particular reason, like an old piece of software not working with Vista?

I would be inclined to put Vista back on it. Vista is much better and safer than XP once you get used to it, Especially on a laptop.

If you really want to keep XP, try looking for an older Acer notebook with the same bluetooth adaptor that came with XP installed and see if the driver works from that, its a long shot though.

Sony Fj270 upgraded to vista ultimate, now cannot restore among other things.

OK YOU NEED A DISK WIPE/ HARD DRIVE WIPE THERE ARE A TONE OF THEM ON EBAY FOR GOOD PRICES BUT MAKESHURE THAT YOU GET THE ONES ON DISK NOT A DOWNLOAD OR USE THE INSTAL DISK FROM THE WIN VISTA AND FOLOW THE STEPS AS BOOT FROM THE DISK AND FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS UNTILL YOU GET TO THE PARTITION SPOT, THERE YOU JUST NEED TO DEL THE PARTITION AND THEN CLOSE THE INSTAL, EJECT THE DISK , REBOOT , AND BOOT FROM YOUR WIN XP DISK AND FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS FROM THERE ON

SEE WINDOWS WONT LET YOU INSTALL A PREVIOUS VERSION OF ITS SELF BUT I WOULD USE A WIPE DISK SO YOU DONT HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT ANY "BLADING" OF DATA

Factory installed microphone isn't working anymoe

open up your volume toolbar, advanced and make sure that your mic is not muted, turned down or that your mic +20 boost is turned off. You can always uninstall sound drivers and have vista find them again on boot up, but Vista is such a new platform that your mic hardware may not be compatible. Good luck, I have never had good results with the windows mic.
