Can't connect wirelessly through IBM T23 with XP

I have an IBM T23 running XP which I'd like to set up to connect to the internet wirelessly but I can't figure out how! I bought a bluetooth dongle (as the laptop isn't wireless) and I've spent 10 hours online trying to figure out if I might need drivers or if there's anything I'm missing but I've made no progress. The dongle is working and active but the laptop isn't seeing the wireless router and there doesn't seem to be an option to find it. I can connect to the router wirelessly from another laptop, just not this one. Really I'm looking for advice as to what I should have on the laptop to get it working. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance :)

First you most likly need a wireless card now along with a wirless card youll need a modem card and ethernet card secondly the bluetooth device may not be working out the greatest so if you downt want all the crads I suggest getting a usb wireless connection which is specifaclly for high speed wireless connections. These can be purchased at any computer store.

Wireless disabled

First of all, there's a great 'System Update' utility available on Lenovo's website for all IBM/Lenovo notebooks. Unfortunately they are stuck this month trying to revamp their delivery method, so that's not available until later this month.
So for now, go to Lenovo's device driver matrix, pick your model and reload the wireless AND power management utilities. (quick link: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-57669)
After that there should be an icon in the tray that gives you the option to turn wireless on/off.

Thinkpad T23

I believe the T23 has a built in wireless slot located on the bottom under a panel. If so, you will need to purchase an internal wireless card and download the drivers for it. You can usually get a good deal on one at Ebay. Or, you can go to Walmart and buy a universal wireless card that slides into the bus port or usb port, depending on the card. Walmart sells universal wireless cards for anywhere from $25 to $125, depending on what you want. I suggest the $30 to $40 range, they will work fine for you.

Cannot install wireless card

Does it show up on the driver as installed? If it dosen't, i think you might of used the wrong driver. Some laptosp use many different cards so you might of used the wrong one.
