error message, saying there is no paper when it is in fact full

I also get a paper out! error when the bottom paper cassette is full, and the feed switch is correctly set on the lower cassette. Would appreciate any help on this problem.

Paper feed rollers on back paper tray don't work correctly on my replacement refurbished mp830. (My original mp830 died in 8 mo. and my Staples extended warranty replaced it with a refurbished w/ 90 day warranty.) Paper gets caught as soon as it begins to feed. Cyber-Test suggested I clean the rollers with q-tip and alcohol, but that didn't make a difference. They're replacing it... again. I wish I had a solution to offer. I tried just using the front tray while I waited for the replacement printer, but now machine is reading a paper jam and I can't proceed, even though there is no paper in it. I wish I had a solution to offer.

i have always loved this printer, but am about to throw it out of my window. I have PRINTER RAGE!!! whenever I clean it with my air in a can, it works for a little while again.

I have no idea that the "feed switch" could make so much sense. I had this paper feeding problem, after using the Cannon Pixma 830 for several months, my printer will keep exhibiting error message paper tray is empty "cassette" is empty?.

I tried to clean up, start, restart, powercycle the printer, then use the maintenance tab to clean up everything "auto?.

Almost about to bang the computer with a hammer, then I came searching for error on the google, I noticed this discussion.

I checked the feed switch twice, my goodness, it started working?. I am still not sure what the heck this feed switch does. I haven't changed my paper feed config, but I realize now, some accidental touch on this feed switch, which would have changed the paper feed.

Hey, whatever it may be, Thanks for the tips.

Click on the 'feed switch' on the front control panel- it might be feeding from the invisible drawer underneath and it might be empty. There is a light which will indicate which source it is feeding from.

Sir! the problem of our kyocera mita fs 3800 is this that it gives us message that the paper is jam please open the cassette 1.and remove the paper. we opened the cassette 1 checked the tray but there is...

Try cleaning the paper feed rollers for that cassette. Sometimes the rollers get dirty causing the paper to slip and not feed from the cassette causing the machine to register a paper jam.

The rollers can be cleaned with rubbing alcohol and a cloth.

My canon MP560 thinks that there is no paper loaded when I have the tray full. How do I get it to believe that there is paper?

Theres a cassette underneath and a sheet feed from the back. Make sure you have paper in the cassette tray, when it says cassette tray empty.

13.01.00 jam in tray 2

This is a paper mis-pick error. it may feed the paper just a little onto the roller on the cassette. This usually means the rollers are worn out. 2 of them to change, 1 on the cassette and one inside. They both have blue plastic cores.

My printer is not taking the paper and is saying that the tray is empty. I can hear the mechanism making a sound as though it is going to take the paper but nothing actually moves to do it. It's as if...

Try the feed switch first, the feed switch selects either the top feeder or the cassette under the printer. If it is set for the wrong one you get that error.

Paper tray empty, or paper jam at back

Hello, I had same problem with my Pixma 600, when you lift the control panel flap to turn on the printer just below the on off button ther's a small icon of the printer with a green led at the top and one at the bottom. Press the button to the right to change either top paper feed to bottom tray feed or vice versa. Then try again, you may need to load paper in tray at bottom/front on printer.

Paper Feed Not Automatically Switching to Multi-Purpose Tray

Sounds like the paper out sensor for the cassette is either broken or jammed. Pull out the cassette tip the machine on its back and you should see a black arm hanging down. This should be able to swing back and fourth freely. Unless it is missing or broken.
