SMS memory Hi My Samsung Tocco has only 200 msgs out of 500, however every time it gets to about 200 SMS, a msg box pops up saying I have to delete. But I am sure there is spare capacity. How would I fix this? I also do not have any multimedia msgs using up the messaging memory. Can you help? Thanks

    i do have this and my memory says 200 sms so how to store more it has created a great problem nokia mobiles do not have this problem

    my problem is quite similar. when my inbox reaches 200 the message 'memory full' will appear bt when i delete my inbox the message will go away. but when i delete from my drafts, sent items the message will still pop out. how 2 fix this?

1 message is considered as 120 characters or some thing like that .. so if it exceeds more than that then that single message is counted as 2 messages ...
as it occupies the space of 2 messages ..
and this memory includes the messages saved in the drafts,sent items,outbox etc

so due that you might be getting confused so just a have cross check regarding that ...

if you still feel that out of 500 it is not occupying correctly means there may be some firmware problem ...

this can be solved by giving the "restore factory settings" or "reset" ..

after you press the "reset" it will ask for "security code" or " password" input that ..

after the reset restart your cell once and then it will work perfectly ....

Sorry to inform you, but this phone can only store 200 messages. It does not use the micro SD card for messages, instead it stores them in its internal memory.

Hey dude.. i olso gt d same fone(Samsung GT-S5233W Star Wi-Fi) previously bt its a total **** box.. u cannot put o themes or nythin to customize d fone.. even it has a long procedure to install a simple java game or software.. n ya bout the SMS memory ur tokin bout, no use cz it can't be increased.. it shows a total of 500 sms's bt can actually store a max to max of 300 msgs as d other 200 or so are pre-occupied by the sent box msgs n u can't change dat.. so dats wt it ol is.. u cn do nothing wid dis fone n its better to switch it as i did.. gt d new dell streak.. ;)

Masseages
Cannot expand capacity, but you must delete your SENT messages. They are taking up the room and leaving you with only a small amount of space for your inbox. Check your outbox and sent msgs and delete them.

Message memory full
hi what the phone is saying is its capable of holding 500 message but in reality this means if you have enough free memory your phone can store 500 messages so what you need to do is delete all the sent/outbox/inbox/drafts message delete all the ones you dont need.
Also delete any pictures you dont need as these take up loads of mem also delete any ringtones that your never going to use as alot of the messages you got free with the phone you never use so make sure you delete any of these that your sure you dont want as these also take up loads of memory once you have done this you should find your phone will work just fine

Your Inbox Only support 200 sms... And when I say Inbox it includes your My folder as well... So you see 197+ 26 beyond your range... Delete Data from my Folder.... Problem solved.
