First you have to clarify which HDD you using (SATA/PATA) ? And what is your OS?

When i install (ide 80 gb hard disk) window .at the end when i check drive then only c drive space is 17 gb and drive d ,e,f are o zero now tell me what is the problem

did you partition your hard drive into more than one partition? If so, then did you purposely partition your "C" drive to 17-20 GB? If it's only showing up 17 GB then the other partitions are not formatted yet, or they are formatted to a file format that Windows isn't capable of reading.

Can not format my samsung hard drive with DOS command and Disk Genius and lost 49 GB capacity. What can I do?

You may have the hard drive partitioned into two or more partitions.
Delete all the partitions and create a single partition and then format this single partition on the hard drive.

Ples solve the problem

This occurs due to wrong or incomplete format to your drive. you should get it partitioned again using the DM (Disk Manager). its a DOS based program simple to work with. It starts a wizard for the user to get his drive partitioned.

Seagate 160 gb capacity problem

the harddrive size is in another measurement system and the actual size of the drive is exactly what you are seeing 152.

here you can see how my disks show
894a905.jpg 160GB disk - 152,66GB
1000GB disk - 931.51GB

that is correct.

Get the hard drive replaced. It was probably damaged during shipping.
