Question about Toshiba Satellite A205-S4617 Notebook
My toshiba a-205 laptop has "died". I cannot reload operating system from provided recovery cds. I really do not want to take my computer to a repair shop because i am decent at troubleshooting and fixing problems. however I cannot find any instructions on how to go about doing this. Any suggestions?
"Died" can be a lot of things... I'm a software and hardware engineer and if I spill coffee on my laptop it's going into the trash; might be able to save the Hard Drive, RAM, and CPU. Does the computer even boot? If so, I recommend going to this website and downloading a Live version of Ubuntu and burn it to a CD.
When you boot to it will detect all your hardware and run the Operating System from the CD without any changes to your computer. You can open the "Partition Manager" tool and reformat the drive so your recovery disk might work with a clean NTFS partition.
