Try F10 and see if you can boot a System Recovery. Or try F2 and see if you can change security/passwords.

Forgot admin password cannot how to reset admin password gateway lt2104u

Look on Ebay for a password reset disk. Many vendors on Ebay sell a bootable "linux" disk that you boot from and then you can edit your password file on Windows. I have versions for XP/ Vista.Windows 7.

Be sure to get one that works for your version of windows. You must set the BIOS to boot from the CD drive first for this to work. About $5 to $10 for the reset disk.

Bought a Gateway model M465-E on Ebay only to find out the bios is pass-worded so I cant load Win XP because of The infamous "no hard drive error because of the Sata Driver, and i cant get to the...

I'm sorry but I don't know how to reset your BIOS. But to get around your problem, you should be able to enter the boot menu to boot to the optical drive to install your OS.

In order to access the boot options on this notebook computer, press the F10 key while the Gateway screen is displayed during the startup process. This opens a Boot menu with the option to start the computer to any of the available drives. Use the UP ARROW and DOWN ARROW keys to select a menu option, and then press the ENTER key to start to the selected device.

To "boot" (start) to a CD, DVD, or a floppy disk, the media must be in the drive when starting the computer.

Try resetting the BIOS to default. or

1. On start up, press the F2 or 'Delete' key to enter the BIOS menu.

2. Expand the "Drives" section

3. Go to "SATA Operation"

4. Change this from "RAID Auto/AHCI" to "RAID Auto/ATA".

Gateway notebook

such problems normally i associate it with ram(memory) and or hard drive. so what i suggest yu do is first lose the area where the ram is, bring it out then put it back in place. then restart yr system n see if it hangs. if u have more than one ram in yr system then try testing then one after the other not just putting the 2 at ones..next try removing the hard drive then power it on n see what happens.next if u can enter into the bios setting good there yu can restore default settings fto manufacturers design.
b4 bringing out any hard ware from yr system try removing batteries first then from power as well.
good luck as u do this
n do come back to tell me the extend yuv gone
