jamcdani Most likely the problem with your dish washer is bad key pad. It is not repairable and has to be replaced. Whirlpool does not sell it separate and you have to by the whole console assembly. The price range is between $95 and $115 (different colors) and it is not very complicated to replace it. SOURCE: dishwasher will not drain
iMost often something has just jamed the drain impeller, take out the filter plate in the bottom, then in the sump to the right side is the cover to the drain impeller. It has one screw in it a
T-20 torx take that out then lift up on the cover. After that use your finger to turn the impeller if it is jammed you will need to find what is blocking it then reassmble

try pressing the cancel/drain button.Do you hear water draining into sink freely?? if not i would disconnect drain undersink look for a clog right there first

Unit will not turn on..had this unit for 6 months..worked fine..all of a sudden wont turn on now..checked power and connections..all were good..im stumped..just wont turn on.

cause is water in the bottom tray which operates an anti-flood switch and all machine will do is drain.
disconnect from mains
remove bottom panel and mop out water and it will work. if fault re-occurs, then you have a leak which you will have to identify
