First time that I heard a peripherial device shuts off their computer... it's usually expected all the way around. but anyways....

there's software out there you can download if you are locked out of your computer. now.. if you're in a corporate enviroment you're probably better of checking with your systems administrator.

if you own your pc and you just somehow unable to log in with your credentials try this.

that's the best I could come up with a not very clear question.. please post more details and I'd be glad to follow up!

Hello,

Press and hold the power button for 5-10 seconds and this should shut down the computer. If not, you may want to switch the power supply on the back of the computer to off to shut the computer down.

Hi, Ive forgotten my toshiba windows 7 user passowrd, and i need in my latop asap. any help??

The program "Ophcrack" is used to crack windows passwords.
Download the Ophcrack ISO (from http://ophcrack.sourceforge.net/ ) and burn it to a CD (or load it onto a
USB drive via UNetbootin). Insert the CD
into a machine you would like to gain access to, then press and hold the power button until the computer
shuts down. Turn the computer back on and enter BIOS at startup. Change the boot sequence to CD before
HDD, then save and exit.

The computer will restart and Ophcrack will be loaded. Sit back and watch as it does all the work for your.
Write down the password it gives you, remove the disc, restart the computer, and log in as if it were you own
machine.

FAX PROG. TRYING TO DOWNLOAD EVERY TIME I LOG ON AND I DO NOT HAVE A FAX.

If you have a modem installed in your computer Windows will try to set up the fax functionality. If you have your Windows installation CD, insert it and install the fax software. That is the best answer I can give you based on the limited information you gave.

it seems you recently downloaded an incompatible files form the computer. click on START-PROGRAMS-ACCESSORIES-SYSTEM TOOLS-SYSTEM RESTORE, here take the system back to a better date that it works perfectly, don't worry you won't loose any recent files saved but your system will be back to normal. good luck

Get me to Windows PLEASE!!!

You can try different steps, lets try to walk through each one of them.

  • Have you tried going into the safe mode ? If not, do so :
To get to Safe mode, press the F8 key when Windows starts to boot. You have to do this BEFORE you see the first "Windows" screen.

Once you are in the safe mode, try to log in and see if this works. If so let me know so we can proceed to the next step.

  • If safe mode did not allow you to enter to the desktop, then do the following:
Insert your Windows XP CD and restart the computer.
The Windows Installation wizard will appear.
find an option "Repair...."
Click on Repair.

Note : IF CD is not detected automatically, you have to re-set BIOS configuration.
Press Del or F10 (depends) when the system starts and then set the Boot Priority.
Here make sure, CD drive is before Harddrive.

Windows log on

You can try logging in as administrator.  As the computer starts up press 'F8' to get into the boot options and select 'Safe Mode with Networking".  Click on the administrator login, the password is blank unless you set one during installation.  Once in windows you can modify the user accounts in control panel.
Note:  If you have never used "F8" to get to the boot menu before the timing is a bit tricky.  If you see the windows logo you are too late. Try pressing "F8" several times instead of just holding it down
