Question about Whirlpool RBS305PD Electric Single Oven
Our oven's broiler turned on and won't turn off. Noticed an error code F-3. Can't do anything else.
We've turned off the circuit to the oven to be safe. When we open the circuit again, the broiler immediately comes back on. broiler won't turn off. My stove is a Whirlpool. I have to turn the breaker off to it. I did see an error code F-3 too.
The broiler won't turn off even when you press the "Off/cancel" button? It sounds like the broiler control relay is stuck shut. The F3 code means the oven temperature sensor has failed, this probably happened because the oven got too hot when the broiler was stuck on. There is fail-safe thermal fuse that will blow if the oven gets too hot, so the oven won't melt down but you should leave the unit off so you don't blow the fuse.
To fix the relay, you will have to replace the oven control module. I think this is about $200 and not too hard to replace if you are somewhat handy. The temperature sensor is also serviceable, you can find parts at Appliance Parts Pros on the web. Hopefully you haven't thrown the range out yet, let me know if you need further assistance.

SAME PROBLEM. Came home yesterday and house was literally 90 degrees or MORE from this staying on. The oven door was open though, so I'm sure helped heat the house up. Thanks for the solution. Have to shut breaker off to shut broiler off. Glasstop Kenmore stove.

If the element does not turn off, possible faults are:
Shorted temperature probe.
Test temperature probe reading impedance. If impedance is zero or lower than 0.500 Ohms, the the probe is shorted. A good probe reads about 1KOhms.
Contact at element. A contact in element wiring harness may cause the element to stay on. Do continuity test between ground and element and on wiring harness.
Defective control module.
If problem is none of the above, then it is the oven electronic control(ERC). The ERC can be tested reading voltages.
Testing must be done by a trained technician.
