My 4GB Ipod Nano 4th Gen freezes all the time. I don't know what does it, but it's been happening since I updated the software. Im not sure how to fix it. All I do is hold the menu button and the centre button for ten seconds until the Apple logo shows up, then I wait a few seconds and it SOMETIMES works again. Other times I just put it on and off hold, or I shake it to make a random song play, wait a few minutes and then it might work. Apple needs to tend to this issue.

Hopefully this is a 4th gen nano... If not you can go to www.apple.com click on support ... there is a search bar there. Put in the keywords that you want ... for example ipod nano 3rd generation manual and search .. it should pull up the older manual for you ... the one I posted is for the 4th generation nano.. hope this helps
worst case scenario is that a circuit has broken inside. But your ipod will be under warrenty for a year from purchase.
Otherwise, leave the ipod to charge for a long time. Just leave it connected directly to the computer USB port despite not having any change in appearance. Also, don't connect it via a usb hub or through your keyboard. You will need to plug it into your computer directly.
You can also try entering DFU mode. Here is a great step by step guide to do that. http://iphonefreakz.com/beginners-guide/howto-dfu-mode/
Then restore the ipod and update the firmware. Make sure you have the latest version of itunes installed. By checking through software update.
