Question about KitchenAid Kitchen Ranges

I've never roasted a stuffed 12lb turkey in my slide in KitchenAid oven. Please tell me what temperature I should set the oven to and how long the turkey should cook.

Sorry more of a technical website tha n a how to cook website, but htere might be a cooking guide in your use and care manual, if not i would try googling that answer

You treat the Roaster like any other oven...
Off the TOP OF MY HEAD...

More importantly... The TURKEY must be thawed properly to be cooked properly.

I FIGURE 23 to 25 minutes per pound at
325° F... If Stuffed add a of pound of cooking time for each pound added by stuffing

Monitor closely with your MEAT THERMOMETER...!!
Your turkey is done when the temperature with a meat thermometer is 180° F in thigh and 165° F in chest or stuffing.

Take your instructions from the TURKEY...
(Altered appropriately by STUFFED or NOT
STUFFED) and backed up with a good
QUALITY meat thermometer...!!

It is a frozen turkey leg stuffed weight is 4 and half pound

Lisa, Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Roast covered for 1 hr., then uncover and roast 1.5 to 2 hrs until the legs are golden brown and the internal temperature is 180 degrees F (82 degrees C) when taken with a meat thermometer. Add a little water if needed while roasting, and baste occasionally with the juices or butter.

step 1
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
  • Step 2 Remove turkey from its wrapping and remove neck and giblets from inside the cavity. Set aside to make gravy later (see Related eHows).
  • Step 3 Rinse turkey inside and out with cold water. Pat dry with paper towels.
  • Step 4 Put oven rack on lowest level of oven.
  • Step 5 Place turkey, breast side up, on a roasting rack in a roasting pan.

    There is no definite time.It is extremely important that the internal temperature of the turkey reach at least 165 degrees in order to kill harmful bacteria that may exist. Thi includes the stuffing. This if difficult to do without drying out the whole bird. Without Stuffing in the bird it is easier. Cook the turkey until the breast meat (thickest part,not near bone or ribs) reaches 161 degrees. or between thigh/leg reaches 180 degrees. Check out , see how its don link in the recipe.     Convection cooking

    Convection ovens are great for roasting!
    I cooked a 15 lb  stuffed turkey in 2 hours in mine. And it was juicy and fab!
    My auto degree set for convection  is 325.
    I have a Jenn Air wall oven, so I don't know, it might be different for different brand.
    Roast or bird should be in the middle of the oven. THe air has to circulate well to get best results.
    I believe rule of thumb is a convection oven takes 1/2 LESS time than conventional.
    Hope this helps.
