Do you really want your camcorder to do this? Editing is where this normally is accomplished with far more control. Steve Medley

Don't know how to sync music to it

View the Optimus DV-3040 User Manual here.
Use the device as a removable storage device with windows explorer, don't use media plaer or anything else to 'synchronize" it.

Help

Try not running the Syn software at all. Try copying the files over manually.

After plugging in the USB cable you should get a small popup that says its connected.

Click on "My computer" and under "Devices with removable storage" you should see a new device called DV.

double click on that and you should see 3 folders. DCIM, EBOOK, and MP3

Copy your mp3 files from your computer into the mp3 folder of the camera and it should work.

The camera should show up as a removable drive on your computer.Assuming you've got a memory card (I don't know how much music would fit in the internal memory of the camera), format it right in the camera using the menu option to format, and then you can copy mp3 files right into the mp3 folder in the camera.

I've read that mp3s with very long file names don't show up in the camera's mp3 player, so make sure you don't let the file names get too long.

Can't get mp3 to work

Put the SD card into your computer using a different source or hook it up with the camera. It will show as a new drive and you will be able to see whats there and add or remove stuff. Try to play a song off the SD card while looking at it in your computer, right click the song and tell it to play using windows media player. If this works then the cam should also. Try head phones using the plug in jack.
