Question about Alpine Car Audio & Video

1 Answer

I have an Alpine MRV-450 and it seems to cut out for 10 minutes and then come back on. The light turns blue while not producing sound. Is it overheating? If so is ther a solution to this problem?

How long before it shutsdown. what impedance are your speakers (single/dual 4ohm? etc) and how are they wired to the amp if it gets real hot and protection kicks on i imagine your speaks need wired different (series instead of parallel)

Mrv F345 power cut out and now the screen flashes blue

disconnect all of the speaker wires at the amp and turn your system on -if the amp stays on then you likely have a roasted coil in one of your speakers somewhere and causing a short which is shutting your amp down into protection mode-if the amp wont stay on with nothing connected to it then you have probably roasted something inside the amp and uhhh good luck bro

Could be the power supply or output stage electrolytic capacitors.
Possibly breaking down/drying out inside.

MRV-F540 Amp shuts off when turning music up

The amp may have defective components, but it is still salvageable. first of all lets discuss what is happening. The amp is cutting off because of excessive current flow. which means one or some of you components have become thermally sensative. You can find out which components they are by using a can of cool mist or any other component cooling spray. this will allow you to find the problem quickly. Now in addition to this you may have to forego the tricks and do some real troubleshooting. Get a schematic of the device and try to take voltage readings to see which components are at fault.
