I've used my west bend 6 qt slow cooker once and it was wonderful. But I tried to use it again and no power light. I've lost the manual and thought there was some safety feature that kept it from turning on right away but can't remember what the process is for starting. I need to use it tomorrow morning for Thanksgiving. Help!

Believe or not, go to your local Goodwill Store! They have tons of crocks and the lids and the cookers separate frm each other that have been donated becase one of the pieces was broken and they donated the rest of the pieces. Lids and crocks typically range from $1.99 to $5.99 and you benefit your community at the same time.
I found this one on eBay but do not know if it will fit your machine. It is a little less expensive and is used. Replacement parts are always expensive but less than buying a whole new machine...much less it keeps it out of the landfills. http://cgi.ebay.com/VINTAGE-WEST-BEND-SLOW-SLO-COOKER-REPLACEMENT-CORD_W0QQitemZ320494123773QQcmdZViewItemQQptZSmall_Kitchen_Appliances_US?hash=item4a9ef03afd
