Hey Brian, I know it's been awhile, but were you ever able to get this printer working? I have one that I bought off of CL and am experiencing the same issue. This particular printer definitely hasn't been used enough to require new parts, and of course it's not actually giving me an error message anyway, only the yellow light comes on. I'd love to find a fix if it's possible.

my printer say, "the ink absorber is full".

6A00 is a purge assembly error, thats the cleaning unit on the right where the printhead parks. Look on the right with a flashlight and see if there's paper, or anything that doesn't belong. If the wipers are jammed into the pad assembly, you will need a new purge unit, best changed by a shop.

A special service software program is needed to reset the internal counter for the ink absorber.

This is a very common problems with canon printers. They are set for a certain number of prints and they need the ink absorber serviced. Now along with resetting the printer its best to replace the absorber. Here is link to site that has reset instructions.
