Question about Acer Aspire 4720 Notebook
There is a problem with your DVD drive, then. I think it is unable to detect because there is dirt on the delicate little lens or some other problem.
Clean the lens with a cheaply available lens cleaning disc a special anti-static cloth made for these purposes.
Or see if the PC itself detects the drive. If it doesn't, restore the system to the time when it was all okay. Use System Restore.
If nothing works, show it to a doctor, and maybe you have to change it.
