Can't override HP 6210 Officejet All-in-One cartridge reject

I have always refilled all of my cartridges for years and years; I know how to fool the Epson Stylus systems and can save $60 every refilll However, I can't replace a 6120 cartridge because the printer has a memory chip. I need an override capability. HP must have a full reset/wipe memory sequence ( # & 9 doesn't cut it). I'm sick of paying so much for cartridges. I need either a chip resetter from somewhere or the secret sequence HP uses at the factory (in China) to recognize a refilled cartridge as new. There has to be a way my friend! Don't forget the way I got here was it said, "FREE", so don't ask for money. If you do expect to charge; forget it and erase my private email address from your database or any third-party sources.

    Hp Officejet Pro L7580 shows newly installed re-filled 88 cartridges as depleted, when they are completely full. How can I fool the chip or override the cartridge chip with a code.

It's # and 6.

  1. without turning the unit off, unplug the power cord from the back of the product.
  2. press and hold # and 6 keys.
  3. while holding those keys, plug the power cord back in.
  4. wait until the screen goes blank before you release those keys.
  5. follow on printer instructions.

If that doesn't work, you can try putting 3 different cartridges (oem or refilled) in the printer. I've heard that the printer memorizes only 3 serial numbers, so if you put in 3 cartridges and then the refilled one, it should read it as new. Not hard to do, but not everybody has 4 same cartridges, so that might be a problem.
I have also heard of putting adhesive tape on some contacts on the cartridge, but I do not know on which one you should put the adhesive tape. I know it works for some older models, should work for new ones too. Here is a link, showing the picture of these older cartridges (couldn't find yours). It might help.

Hi Jim,

When you install a new cartridge, be sure not to touch the contacts, and make sure the contacts on the cartridge align with the contacts on the printer, and all packing tape has been removed. If the contacts on the printter are coated with dry ink, you should clean them with a cotton swab and distilled water. Dampen the swab and wipe off the dry ink on the contacts and let it dryt. Also, run the cartridge alignment on the new cartridge.

My HP Officejet 6210 All-in-One keeps rejecting my color cartriges. I am willing to just print in Black, but it blocks all print jobs. Any ideas on how to by-pass the color cartrige block?


uninstall the software by going into add/remove programs. Then look at the color cartridge and make sure its an original HP cartridge and not one of the 3rd party type of color cartridges. Try to use originals if you can so you don't run into the printer rejecting them.

With the operating system clean of the software go thru the steps in this guide to make sure everything is being installed properly:

This will make sure that the cartridges are installed and that the software is being reinstalled so nothing is corrupted.

If the printer is still blocking print jobs or rejecting cartridges then you know that its either a printhead problem or a main board issue, either way you would have to get the printer replaced.

I refilled my HP74 and 75 cartridges and the printer won't accept them. What can I do


buy correct cartridges - refills have a 70% failure rate. Check the cartridges, on them they'll have an install by date. If your past this date it will reject them.

I want to refill the ink cartridges (black 30 - colour31) myself....how do I do it?


You can't refill these cartridges yourself. Your printer remembers the serial numbers encoded in the electronics of the cartridges that have been in the printer. If your printer sees the same serial number in a row it will kick out the cartridge. HP printers don't use this same system to reject cartridges. I recommend Cartridge World refills or refills from anywhere that has a high turnover of these cartridges so you don't get one with the same serial number.

3 causes:
Empty
Left to long in hot dry environment
Incompatible 3rd party refill.
They are at bottom of cartridge and you can try to get them going with a few moist cotton swabs.
If you got 3rd party junk refill, forget it.
The head is that rectangular metal looking plate

  • Open the Printer Toolbox . There are two ways to do this:
    • Click Start and select HP Solution Center . Select the Settings menu, then the Print Settings submenu, and finally the Printer Toolbox .
    • In your printing application, click File , click Print , and click Properties . Click the Services tab, then the Service This Device icon.
  • The Printer Toolbox opens. Click the Estimated Ink Level tab. A cartridge may be running out of ink even if the graphic shows ink remaining (see the note at the start of this section). Lines or streaks always appear in printouts when the cartridges begin to run out of ink. Replace print cartridges that are out of ink or low on ink.

    Dispose of the leaky cartridge. Clean the contacts in the machine with a little rubing alcohol and a q tip (don't soak it-just moistened it a bit) Make sure the Printer is turned off while you are doing this. While you are doing this I will look up your cartridges and what they are for. I suspect that you have a color cartridge/a regular black cartridge/ and a black printing only cartride but I will check. Don't ever use a leaking cartridge they can damage your printer.

    Hi steve well I suggest that you remove the cartridges and clean the little gold contacts on the carriage and the cartridge. If this doesn't work then install brand new original cartridges as the cartridegs that you have refilled the data ribbon may have been damaged when you refilled them..
