F2:E3 error code on a KitchenAid Model # KGRT607

After I get this code I hit the cancel button and it will clear but after a while it returnes. The only problem I have with the range is when I use the oven it sometimes shuts off all by itself.

SOURCE: F2 Error

Traci, F2 is the error code for a overtemp in the oven compartment. It could be two things. The oven temp. sensor or the main board itself. Start with the temperature sensor. It should ohm out at 1080 ohms at room temp. This of course is the least expensive and probably your problem. The temp sensor is the probe that is in the back wall of the oven. It will remove from the front with two screws. There will be a harness that you can disconnect it from when pulling it out. Some one can ohm it out there. The other possibility is welded relay contacts on the main board. Let's hope it's the sensor. Part number WB21T10007. Catriver..post back.

SOURCE: Oven trouble

Do Not try to perform the below if: Oven is under warranty,You are not handy with a soldering gun, or Are afraid to do this.

The below solution applies only to my in-wall oven with F2 and F3 codes randomly, but presumably will work with other GE models.

I had the same trouble with a GE in-wall oven. The problem was on the electrical board behind the keypad. A pin that was soldered to the board, that was the input for the oven temp sensor, had cracked solder. So I re-soldered the pin and hopefully it will continue working.

F2:E0 is shorted keypad, and F2:E1 is no keypad connection, you need to replace the keypad.

You can find schematics and find replacements by entering model number here.

KitchenAid range ProLine series kesv908 and ykesv908 Oven desplay comes up with err button stuck F2EO

Hi barbsofarell,

The error F2 - E0 code means a shorted keypad (also called touch pad). Please follow the steps below to correct the problem.

1. Check keypad connector for firm connection (keypad connects to control board).

2. Press CANCEL. If error code returns after 60 seconds, replace keypad (also called touch pad or membrane switch). Some models incorporate keypad in to control board as one unit. In this case, replace control board (also called ERC or clock).

Hope it helps.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Kitchenaid KGRT607HW9 MODEL FAULT CODE F2:E1

F2-E1 - Touch Pad (Keypad) Cable Unplugged -
Check the connection between the touch pad (keypad) and control board (clock) to make sure it is secure.
Select the 'cancel' function and wait 60 seconds.
If error code reappears then replace the touch pad, or touch pad and control board (clock) if all one assembly.

It appears your timer/clock has failed in this instance.

For replacement parts - head on over to PartSelect.com or RepairClinic.com and enter in your full model number for a full parts listing.
I recommend both sites because ...

FixYa has no affiliation with either site - I have been using and recommending them for years - trouble free.

PartSelect has a great schematic database for locating the part on your unit and great "testimonials" for each part that often times includes HOW-TO information.
RepairClinic has pictures of each part they sell and also a great how-to and troubleshooting for basic repairs.

If your unit has never been serviced - there should still be an original service manual enclosed in plastic taped to the inside of the shell.
In the service manual are Error codes, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting steps you can follow.

Anything too complicated or beyond your scope should be handled by a professional.

If you think you want to tackle the repair - and have gotten stuck on a step - reply to your question and I will be glad to help you out.

F7-E1 - Common Switch Wire Is Defective - This error occurs when common wire to latch switch and door switch is shorted.
Check all connections at control board and at the latch switch and door switch.
If connections are ok, then check individual switches as outlined for the F5 error code.
