Car doesn't start

Clicking sound when turn on ignition. All lights are visible so not a battery issue. Confirmed that battery wasn't an issue by jump starting.

Have the Voltage in the Battery checked. The antitheft system will sometimes disengage the starter if the battery is below Specs.

If you disconnect the battery completely on the Honda and then jump the Honda with another battery, it will verify the battery in the Honda is the problem.

SOURCE: Clicking Noise when trying to start vehicle

check your key remote if it is not programmed the alarm will go into the kill switch mode and will not allow you to start your engine Having the same trouble with one of my keys I haven't found a way to reprogram it without calling dealer and paying a chunk.

SOURCE: started with fog lights on cars off.got a jump cause the battery was dead. just makes clicking sound from starter.

seems your battery has already been discharged by the fog lamp! recharge or buy a new one, but you should fix first the fog lamp before hooking your battery! check for stuck -up relay!

SOURCE: 97 Geo Metro will not start

IF you are able to jump the vehicle using cables connected to another car then it is a power issue, if the vehicle stays running after starter you can most likely rule out the regulator, it sound like the battery is weak and dieing, it can be strong enough to run the radio without having the power to start the ignition.

99 Olds Cutlass, new ignition problems

Obviously the mechanic is not getting down to the real
issue for some reason
Try a different shop
I can only guess but it sounds like you may need
a new ignition switch & then the proper adjustment
if one is required
You may be able to dajust yours to work ok if that
applies.
Seems odd the mechanic spends all that time in one area
& doesn't have a solution
You may have a bad door switch as well

Car doesn't start. when ignition is turned (new ignition) I hear a relay chatter and my horn sounds intermittely, Battery is new & tested goo

The chatter is due to low voltage. Check all the connections. The battery may have corrosion that lowers the voltage.

Will not start

cam or crank sensor or the ground wire from the battery to the body. Cam and crank sensor will cause the no start but the clicking sounds
leads me to believe the little wire running from your battery ground is
most likely the cause. if all else the altenator is no longer working and that can go any time

1988 Trans Am will not start when ignition is turned all the way.

Take a test light to the small wire on the starter and have someone turn it to the start position. If the light lights up and the engine doesn't turn over, I would suspect the starter itself. If the test light doesn't light, try it in neutral and repeat test. If it still doesn't light up, it may be the PRNDL switch or the ignition switch itself.

The starter doesn't start right away, the battery is good but no clicking sound is made, then after 10 - 15 minutes, it will start. what is wrong with the starter?

it may not be the starter motor it could be that the power isn't getting to the solenoid from the ignition switch, check all the wires & connections on the ignition switch to see if any are loose.........hope this helps.......cheers.

My car on tuesday would not turn over. It sounded like if you left your car out in the winter and it won't start right away but mine will not start at all. Now as of Wednesday it is making a...

sounds like your battery is just low,, it doesn't have the amps to actually turn the car over fully, you have 2 options, get the battery charged, or try to get someone to help you with a jump start,, either way , once you get it started, take the battery and have someone do a LOAD test on it,, to be sure all the cells are taking a full charge

1991 Lexus 400 - engine doesn't start - battery seems charged - 12.3 volts - makes clicking sound only - doesn't turn over at all.

Is it one click or multiple clicks. If it's multiple clicks, it sounds like a dead battery. Voltage isn't always an indicator of a good battery, you need to have enough cranking amps to be able to start an engine also. If you have dash lights and it only clicks once, you could have a bad starter. An easy way to check this is to try and jump start the vehicle. If it starts up with a jump start, you need a new battery. If it still doesn't start up and it just clicks, you probably need a new starter.

Good Luck!
